Plenty of capacity for every kind of test16 Oct 2020 20:37
I am confident that as long as tests achieve the specificity and sensitivity required in particular settings there will never be enough of them available in the UK, Europe, the US and world-wide. Personally I am very pleased whenever I read of another testing breakthrough and do not think any of them threaten NCYT's prospect of ongoing scientific and commercial success. As it happens I think Boris was talking about AVCT's lateral flow test this afternoon but none of know definitively. Every test that can be developed and manufactured will be required for at least a year or two and probably longer so I do not see any issues in terms of space in the market.
Test, test, test, as the WHO said in the spring is going to be our way out of the horrible situation in which so many people find themselves in so many countries. Boris correctly emphasised today that once asymptomatic carriers, as well as those with symptoms, can be identified by any type of test as long as it returns quick and accurate results, then and only then can people live, work and socialise with confidence.
On a personal level I have fairly substantial holdings in NCYT, AVCT, GDR, TILS, ODX and SNG - all will achieve good returns in my view.
