Report of masks being sourced from Uighur factory in China and donated to NHS - another nudge to procurement teams to source from the UK. Interested in views on the second RNS confirming that Chris Akers has sold down - have the shares gone to a new major holder or two in which case we will see at least one TR1? Or were some of them sold to Richard and Charlotte Edwards? If they were sold into the open market why has the price held up so well?

I like the background of the new Group Financial Director and Board member, Gary Thorneycroft. He is clearly very experienced in financial services and I wonder if fintech is the planned direction of travel? I also note his role in preparing a company for sale to Ocado. All very interesting, 2021 should be rewarding for shareholders.

I assume CMEC are linked to the Chinese government just because that seems to be the way it is with most major companies but nevertheless I found this proviso from today's RNS interesting as it suggests even closer cooperation that I had envisaged, not of course that I know anything at all about it. I am just speculating!

Does anyone share my suggestion that the Chinese government investment in the project relates to the financial backing we know is being negotiated with major Chinese banks? If so, it suggests to me that CMEC have got the funding sewn up and that the project is seen by the Chinese government as one which fits in with their development interests in Mozambique. CMEC are dotting the Is and crossing the Ts.

The last few months have confirmed beyond any doubt for me that the project will go ahead - I have believed that for years as a LTH but the more we learn of CMEC's commitment, the more I have relaxed. They are after all a very large Chines major with strong government backing and they seem from today's RNS to be as committed to and enthusiastic about the project as NCCL. I am very confident in my investment.

Interesting to hear on Marr that Dominic Cummings will be working his notice from home with one focus only - rolling our the mass-testing Moonshot project. I suspect that will be excellent for Avacta and others as there must have been some concern that his departure might shift attention away to other priorities and it was known that the Moonshot was very much a Cummings initiative.

Today's RNS was predictable - there could be no coherent growth strategy without funding mechanisms being normalised. To me it is a 'clear the decks' RNS and the company can now focus on their future plans for organic and acquisitive growth with more funding available to help them to do exactly that. I think ICON will be a very different company in six months time and I intend to stay invested.

Personally I am delighted to read that at last the funding situation has been normalised and that there is positive progress with JOE Media. Strong foundations were needed for future growth and share appreciation and the first major steps have been taken.

The documents suggest that they could be used for weekly tests of the 10 per cent of the population at greatest risk from Covid-19.
