Hey TL I agree. I do have a suspicion the next results might show further decline, so it might also be true that they don’t want to have their new CEO thrown in st the public deep end? Apart from that I remain positive.

Hey Casa, yeah I realise all those transactions cause these numbers to not match, I’ve just noticed during the day they remain quite accurate as in add up more or less. But I think you have probably answered my question though, I’m guessing these don’t add up today because there were unusually large transactions off book before the market opened? Is that possible ?

Hey Casa, okay sorry just absorbed your explanation, I think that explains how the buys and sells get mistaken, which I already knew was unreliable after Veto point this out. But that still does not explain why the numbering transactions (either mid counted as a buy or sell). Does not add up the figure given as the number of trades so right now it’s 4.6m sold 3.6m bought but the overall number of trades is 11m. Am I misunderstand? Sorry

When I’ve looked, give or take pretty much

I’ve noticed last couple of days the sold / bought numbers don’t add up to the total trading figures, so now total is 10m, sold is 4m and bought is 3m. Quick look on interweb & it suggests these might be “off book” transactions where companies can do deals between each other. Does this show a bit more interest from larger players?

Haha Carrington you are a bit :) But yes all told it’s always good to see money shifting across, except that particular investor has a pretty bad record of late. But I agree this share is still undervalued a look st the £22bln valuation tells me that. I think mid £30bln is more representive & with some good news on the pension front maybe mid 40’s?... only a couple of years ago Market valued BT at £50bln

Hey Carrington I don’t know how you know that, but this price would be a beautiful thing. Although I bought shares at the £4.41 point, I’ve bought on the way down. I’ve decided a price of £3.50 might do it for me, I don’t think that’s possible for a while so will wait.

Good call pollowick!! It’s still not great, but that little nugget of brilliance does reduce the impact. I’m not sure though, but current price does now include EE.... but I’m not sure if that’s worse than originally owned O2 because of the cost / debt

Is that true? ... I guess that would be the cost of the long term transition from monopoly to a standard provider, in a list of many providers. Could you argue this figure shows the growth potential?...

Hey Pacey, I’m still not certain copper can be recovered ? Not leaving the new network in place? I think it’s good BT has a foot in both fixed and mobile, but in many ways it’s a curse as well as benefit. Migrate mobile voice, text and data to fixed line when there’s an available Wi-fi (Wi-fi calling) which undermines their mobile arm or mobile BB for everything which undermines their fixed line business. Right now I can’t see a happy medium where both flourish ? It needs a higher pay scale then mine!!! Any ideas ?

Hey Pacey, okay yes, is there no other mobile signal available at your daughters? Obviously if there is you can imagine a time where BT fixed line services may not be the only option. If BT fixed line is the only option, I’ll bet that’s a really really unusual case, reducing by the month. I love to follow the telecoms world, May I suggest you look at Verizon 5G trials in America currently. It’s very very interesting, to me it does point towards a possible future, one of many, but several years away I would guess.

I’m with you pacemaker. In my opinion, democracy ended when leave falsely convinced people it was unpatriotic to vote remain. Democracy is a precious thing and compaigning using those methods is a dangerous thing. Born out by the ridiculous notion another vote is some how is some how undemocratic, but my gut feel is the leave poison goes too deep, which is why I’m not sure Carrington’s thoughts on common sense will prevail. My view is if you are stupid enough to set fire to something don’t be surprised if you get burnt. N Ireland, Scotland and Wales all up for grabs post Brexit, along with much more non EU immigration etc etc etc.

Haha Carrington I hope you are right. Although when you mix nationalism and fake patriotism into any mix common sense & in so many ways common decency may not factor into any equation. Nose is already cut off.

Okay Carrington understood. If we agree DT is the only likely bidder, Brexit might be a huge issue, all the behind scenes things no one thinks about like data sharing etc etc etc it’s endless. In so many ways it will make it harder for BT / DT to operate across borders..... it’s that little rule of unintended consequences, of which I suspect our future will be full of.
