Hey Carrington, kind of long to medium term is my plan. £3 would put me nicely above my average price. My big hope is £3.50, I would consider starting to sell around that point, not counting any chickens or anything but hopeful. I’ll find a good cause to help out with any gains above that point.

Haha Carrington that must be some kind of investment to pay for your champagne life style!!!!! Alas there are those amongst us that bought (some shares) as high as £4.41!!!! (But I have invested very heavily to bring the average price down). But I’m still not quite there. I decided to hang on, but I’ve learned for future & will be much more proactive. My gut feel, is this share will go to £3.50 + just based on a £40bln + valuation .... dunno if there’s any sense in that ? Or not ?

Hey NDN, million years ago sky put equipment in Bt switch sites and the used these boxes to provide phone and bb services. I think they still paid by for the wholesale costs. Was a huge investment but took up all the space in the local switch room !!

I think this might be second or third time I’ve seen this ofcom attempt to reinforce access. The guys on here say it’s already available but no one wants it, the article kind of confirms other major operators are not interested because they say it detracts from new build investment. (& no virgin et’ all don’t and won’t need to open their networks up to BT or anyone else because it’s all been built with private money)

Without news this behaviour is very odd. I’ve been watching it for a while now, but don’t remember seeing day to day volatility like this? Volume doesn’t seem to be driving it either?

Hey Blue Pete, yeah you got the point I was making, that being new generation wireless network capacity working in the many gigabit data rate & 5G networks by their very nature being small cell could conceivably not need so much fibre in the longer term. It was only 10 years ago we all struggled with data on our phones, today we have more than we need, tomorrow there will be an abundance of speed. Also I’m not sure there’s that much money in back hauling mobile networks & my guess is it’s going to get more competitive. Along the lines of old style carrier services.

NDN apart from for the first time the mobile network itself is a gigabit network. Maybe not 5G but 6 or 7 ?

I guess this money will be to encourage rural broadband, the deployments other fibre companies might not necessarily be interested in, maybe BT should swim with the crowd on this one.

I have to agree pacemaker, is it the job of a chairman to quash speculation whilst appointing a new ceo, who probably has a job to review the business and formulate a plan? Also where’s Gav? It reinforces the lame duck decisions earlier this year by the same chairman. Ultimately the sp rise looks like it was caused by investment speculation, why would you move to only quash market speculation? Surely you do that by announcing a plan that doesn’t include that speculation result ?

I see city fibre are reporting £2.5bln network fibre investment. Shows there’s some serious backing behind it now ?
