Ascoyne I see the threat to ISP’s as the data protection and sharing rules. U.K. isp’s will not be able to host these services and companies will not be able to share across regulatory borders. Compliance will be the word in the same way with aircraft bits. Politians and morons want to tell everyone it’s delays at borders or tariffs. It’s not, its regulation and air worthy licensing. The real threat from leaving the EU comes from the loss of regulation, compliance and licensing.....

Hey Velo and Pacey as well as the CEO (which I think will have a watch and wait effect). My gut feel is the pension RPI/CPI will get resolved, I think recalculate in line with recent longevity figures. I also think some of the large contract losses over past couple of years will work their way through the accounts.

Hey Pacey, I believe every EE phone automatically switches to Wi-fi for voice, text and mobile. I think this is now true for BT mobile. O2 offer same but I don’t know if it’s automatic or not? This little known change is a big deal & surely changes the landscape of fixed line

The elephant in the room in the argument between mobile and landline is...... around 85% of all mobile calls, mobile data and texts take place within range of an accessible Wi-fi connection, either home, work or in town. Without a doubt there is an argument that much of this traffic could easily be removed from the “mobile “ RF network. For the first time in years there is a question mark over mobile phone companies dominating the future. Just saying

Fusion so your analysis is the landline is dead. You want BT to decide whether they are a landline / entertainment company or an entertainment company that does land lines. Having said landlines are dead, you think the best strategy is to lose the entertainment ?...... did you vote for leave?

Hey TL I agree, back to £2.40 would be a good start. I still think there’s £3.50 in this share medium term. I’m happy to give it couple of years before I start to seriously question my position. There’s still plenty on the horizon that could get market attention imo.

Hey Zib. Once everyone has more bandwidth then they can use, will the be any urgency or business case to rush through upgrades? I think that’s what I’m saying about 4G. For the near term I can’t see consumers paying more for something they don’t need. 4G is delivering for most people really well. I know there might be specialised applications needing reduced latency etc. But for directions, surfing, remote VPN working etc etc etc 4G is exceeds the requirement. I’m sure 5G will be big newe, my doubt is the delivery of it in the short term. In so many ways in my mind, investment in 4G damages the case for 5G, I think it’s the first time I’ve seen anything like this. For example in my local area I regularly get 60meg download spends out and about on 4G

As usual love to read your posts Velo. The Vodafone BT 5G battle is a very interesting discussion point. My view is I don’t think consumers are going to pay extra for 5G & extra is the business case 5G needs. I think evidence is already there to show this. More consumers are keeping their old handsets and moving to sim only deals, rather than upgrading. I think this is happening because the 4G and handset combo gives them what they need. I’m not saying 5G won’t take off, but I do think consumers are not going to invest in new hand sets just because of 5G. For mobile companies to compete better with fixed line B.B. this might be an expensive opportunity, but business case might be cheaper than fibre, I don’t know? Time will tell, but the race for 5G might not be the quick money maker. What does everyone else think? In terms of telecoms investment this might be the next big investment question

Haha Avrohom, that would be a fairly soul destroying CEO announcement. I’m actually hoping for a stronger reaction than that. Been looking at other new ceo shares to get an idea.
