Quite possible we'll close over 50p....

The good old 50p to 52p range..... the gift that keeps on giving. But I think we'll break out of the range in September towards HY results.

.... they're just plucking a figure out the air. The same way we do when we say it should be a pound or what ever. They're obviously trying to squeeze more out of TLW and get themselves a better deal if the merger goes ahead. I must say at first I really liked the idea of the merger....now not so much. If TLW increases the offer, definitely don't like it.

Well I decided to sell my pot at 52p and break even in case it drops this afternoon. One thing against you trading like this is you have to make back the stamp duty as well as the difference between the buy and sell price. So as soon as you buy you're instantly down a few percent. Makes it very difficult for a PI with a small pot :-(

I have a top up pot that I started "day trading" with 2 weeks ago.....buying at 50p and selling at 52p. Made 2 trades and a small profit but then managed to bugger it up by buying in too early at 51.5p before the last drop to 49p. So now waiting for 52.5p.

I'm too nervous to do it with my main holding as I think in the next 3 to 6 months there's the potential for some good RNS's and don't want to be out for example when Kenya is announced as been waiting a long time for that.

I mean sell at 52.5p and buy at 50p .....

Why....because when you sell at 50p and buy at 52.5p you make 5%. Easy money....

JMAX that's the million dollar question..... but there is a serious disconnect, as when oil was $60 we were 50p and now oil is $100 again we're still 50p.

As to the 60p I'm hopeful we'll get that next month when the strategic reserves being released comes to an end and our HY results are published. That said...with this share who the hell knows.....but without hope what else is there.

the price of oil has nothing to do with the Tullow share price.

And also don't forget that it's 5k a year for the preemption....so only 2.5k over 6 months.

Why's it shocking? We were 40p in July, so anything is possible with this bl**dy share. I will say one thing though, considering what's happening in the wider stock market we're actually doing OK to drop less than 5%. Last year after we had the same thing in July/August, I said to myself if I'm still holding this year I'll sell in June and buy back at the end of August. Unfortunately as it was a year ago I forgot what I said to myself and find myself still holding in July/August and being abused all over again.

Remind me when the 1 million barrels a day being pumped into the market from the stretegic reserves is coming to an end?

I'd say at the moment the share price is disconnected from the price of oil. Someone has figured out how to control the share price and this share is simply traded in a 5% range. In doing so they're making a lot of money. Just look at the past few weeks and see how many times we've gone from 49p to 52p and back again. How we break the cycle remains to be seen. With a bit of luck in the run up towards the HY results we'll head over 55p. Perhaps stay there with a strong set of results.

But f..k it here goes..

Yes, we're languishing at around 50p and should be well over 60p, however just look at the market and how many shares dropped 5% or more on Friday. For once we weren't one of them. To me that's a good sign and I'll wait patiently for Kenya.

Also, spare a thought for Cineworld holders who've lost thousands or even had their life savings wiped out this week. Very sobering! We've got a lot to be grateful for....
