JMAX ... I don't agree about the state of the company when he took over. He was appointed in April 2020 (oil less than $25) and started in July 2020 (oil less than $35). The Uganda sale was announced in April 2020, approved by share holders in July 2020 and completed in November 2020. The refinancing was only done in May 2021 and the share price in March 2020 at its low was 7.4p and then mostly below 30p for the rest of the year.

So maybe no fireworks from him, but he has steadied the ship.

I'm still at a loss to why people think he's done such a bad job. He can't magic oil out the ground, so can only work with the assets he has. People also seem to have very short memories regarding the oil price in 2020 and the state of the company when he took it over. Then he also doesn't have much control of the day to day share price and can't be held responsible for hedge funds scuppering the merger. Hell there's one of them with a mere 1.something percent stake in CNE telling CNE they should wind up the company and asset strip it for best shareholder value. Also working in Africa is challenging. Not easy to get stuff done and especially not quickly. Then there is the fact that he's said he's put in place a 5 year plan ... don't recall him every saying £1 by Christmas. So really not sure what people expect.

I do agree communication could be a better, but we have a capital markets day next month so fingers crossed we get some fireworks.

What exactly has he done wrong?

I'm hoping for change before the end of the year....be nice to at least get a Ghana gas RNS before Christmas and something exciting from the capital markets day next month in December.

6 November was not a deadline, but instead the Government set period for their review of the Field Development Plan (FDP). We have not provided a deadline with regards to the project and securing a strategic partner, but have instead stated confidence of progress to be made this year.

As a listed company we are subject to certain disclosure obligations and we can confirm that we have disclosed all material information about the company and its operational and financial performance in line with those requirements. We will update the market about further progress the company has made before the end of the year.

As it is now the 7th of November and past the Kenyan government deadline, what happens now and will you be providing an update?

Yes that is correct. But seeing as they published the 6th of November deadline in the half year results I think they should update us as the deadline has passed. Even if it is just to say discussions are ongoing. So hopefully my email will help them see the need to communicate more. Not holding my breath of course.

I emailed IR relations this morning to ask for an update as we're passed the 6th of November government deadline. No response yet. Will share the response when/if I get one.

That's a 35% increase off the recent low last month. Quite bit more than a good few percent I'd say.

It's Friday, suns out and we're up over 25% this week since the recent low of 36p odd, yet everyone seems a bit tetchy on here today.

If you think things will be better under Labour you're delusional. The one is just as bad as the other ..... tax and spend with zero regard for the consequences. It's time for change and for people to stop voting for a particular political party just because it's a family tradition going back several generations.
