It reminds me of an experience I had in a casino many years ago. I was on my honeymoon and in the heady days of being childfree, young and foolish my new wife and I settled down at a blackjack table.
It was a bit hit and miss then a friendly German guy who had amassed a mountain of chips started discreetly coaching us. In no time we were hundreds of dollars up so wisely we thanked our new friend and headed back to our resort feeling like we’d beaten the bank at Monte Carlo.
The next night flush with our previous nights success we headed back to the casino thinking we’d cracked it and expecting to win big. Sadly our mentor was absent. I had a few drinks won a few but lost a couple of big hands. I started chasing it, used up spare cash and against my new new wives good sense cashed a load of travellers cheques too. Anyway I was down but thinking it was like 21s or pontoon I went in heavy on a five carder. It came off but instead of pushing piles of chips in my direction the croupier reached out with her little rake and instead took all my money. This was black jack not 21s so no 5 card tricks house wins.
That night we didn’t even have enough money left on us to get a taxi back to our hotel. My new wife had to trudge back in her finery because I had been too ****y to check the rules and had overcommitted.
That memory has stayed with me I have rarely felt so stupid and I vowed it would never be repeated, so make sure whatever you decide you keep enough aside not to over expose yourself financially. We should all do well here but you don’t want that long walk home & no taxi.

As for boring that first chap could give the UK glum brothers a run for their money.

For those who didn’t see it he reeled off a list of every conceivable place where they might hold vaccinations. He could have covered it in half a sentence but instead took ten.
That was the highlight for me. Still cracking on with the vaccine mantra but we’ll get there.

Detected a slight niggle with Fauci saying Uk adopting different approach with single dose vaccine roll out based on ‘their data.’ But we won’t be doing that based on ‘our data.’
We really need to rebrand as a stateside concern or get befriended by a big USA pharma.

The reduction in transmission possibly 40% and then only at that level tested a few weeks after second dose. He expected this 40% transmission reduction to then reduce significantly over the following weeks and months.

Markets and public sucked in by more triumphant claims (which are best case at the strongest point of efficacy shortly after the 2nd dose) in the words of the professor very good news but no where near figures to achieve Herd Immunity.

Not the silver bullet Mr Han**** seems to be shouting about. SNG investors this has a very long way to run.

His petulant Twitter responses give a good indication of the type of chap we are dealing with. But always actions speak louder than words.
Having said that I do have a few choice words for him but probably best left to the imagination.

Fauci at one stage was talking of little else than how exciting mAbs were.
He needs to park that one as the treatment field continues to thin out with SNG riding home strongly.

I think the German Government recently bought a few million euros worth of mAbs. I don’t know if they can repurpose them but it seems they could be looking to place a hefty order for something that works.

People to date have looked into RMs interview comments and tried to infer he might be giving a clue about this or that.

With the SH article today it is totally unambiguous. The poker analogy is a good one. He has raised the ante with the government and then gone all in staking both his own and SNG s reputation.

He hasn’t done this behind dark glasses. He isn’t bluffing he knows how good his hand is and we won’t have to wait long to see.
The mainstream reaction hasn’t happened nobody o/s SNG is listening.

That to me, like these guys makes it even more bizarre that he’s gone in for personal attack on Prof Holgates integrity. That is incredibly unprofessional and is deserving of an apology. He should in my eyes be called out on this attack until he does apologise.
But in a wider context it is disturbing for all of us trying to make SNG a success.

Prof Lawrence Young on BBC news now questioning actual vaccine efficacy and is advocating the need to reconfigure them.

Boris and Trade Secretary have proclaimed again today the vaccines remain ‘effective.’
Positive news no problem, but how good is ‘effective’ against newer strains.

Mact4 you’ve used one of my favourite analogies so In part I agree.
However I also like the rather simplistic saying that ‘if you’re not part of the solution then you are part of the problem.’

Prof Horby is displaying an entrenched and illogical hostility to SNG and the vast array of independent research that supports it.

So sadly he has not been magnanimous enough to reconsider his opposition so no amount of ‘honey’ will help the situation.
Prof Holgate has my unwavering support and with his insight if he says we are being overlooked, Horby needs moving aside. Politely of course.

With clever presentation/ manipulation of a data set you can extrapolate figures to support a variety of conclusions.

I have never been more convinced that some of the vaccine efficacy has been severely over egged. After all it was a given they would be green lit by government Before full regulatory approval, the hype & demand created an unstoppable juggernaut.
I welcome the vaccines but I also appreciate honesty it seems by extrapolating what the data shows us the manufacturers have again been allowed to mark their own homework.
Closer scrutiny and real world observation of just how effective they may be will follow eventually but it is now a fait accompli.
Some have been given a huge leg up SNG is doing it the right way but the hard way.
