Totally agree. The chairmanship is simply a sinecure for the current occupant and he is the cuckoo in the nest. His handling of the Friends Provident deal is 'interesting' and so is the performance of 3i since his departure to join Aviva.

This is my 2nd worse performer out of a dozen. 75% of my stocks are now in profit, some by well over 20%.

My guess is that AV. stocks have been sold to fund the purchase of other stocks rather than because AV. is facing a drop in profits. But it remains the stock with no get up and go and so holders have got up and went.

If I listened to brokers I'd have bought some real dogs. I am not without dogs but I bought them all by myself.

If China went in to Taiwan and Hong Kong the HSBC share price would not be my biggest concern.

Much the same as LGEN really. MNG seems to be the best of the trio right now. I have high hopes for MNG.

If it does stand out against the crowd, it knows full well that the market will decide. If a Volvo without a DMS is used to kill by a drowsy driver then that could in the future present them with all kinds of difficulties.

In reality I suspect Volvo simply don't want the added expense. That could bite them in the bum.

If you sit on your thumbs that is true. But my trades have brought my average sp right down while the number of shares I hold have risen. It is a game of swings and roundabouts.

At any time I have about ten stocks with at least five others I keep an eye on.. My worst stock is HSBA which I am not inclined trade at its current level having bought in too many, too high for its current range. One day when HK is resolved, amicably I hope, it'll come good and it pay dividends.

Generally 2020 looks to be a watershed year for the industry. Australia burning, for one thing. The product of 2019 is easily identifiable with that of the 1970s; most drivers could get into a 70s car and just drive it, things having changed so little That's going to change from this year on and that has to be good news for us SEE investors.

Surprisingly, there's a real chance that huge outfits such as Shell and BP might even give impetus to the new approach: innovate or die.

As you will see from the RDSB board, I bought into Shell 8 days ago after some news had spooked the sp and it seemed low. Using revenue from AV. sales. I guess that makes me the new Warren Buffet ;-)

Seems to me the message is that times they are a changing. We can't expect fossil fuels to behave as they used to. Nor politicians.

Just sold my Euro 4 diesel and we'll live with just the petrol motor for 2020 then see what's new in 2021. We need only one car anyway. Oil companies need to be flexible too or they will become fossilised fuel companies.
