I had too many Aviva and had no cash for other opportunities.
I've never had to regret trading this company so far. Fingers crossed lest they get burned!

I have an alternative that's fallen lately for no visible reason other than politics. Lower dividend but well under its normal level.

For every buy there must be those who sold. Movement in the sp depends on supply vs demand.

Volatility has been my friend usually. Sometimes I miss the boat but I still have my cheapest PRTC having taken profits on the bigger proportion. I would have bought at 191 if I'd had cash back then. I seem to recall there was a patch of bad news.

Nevertheless, this would make it easier for a predator to seize control. Given the relative performance of the US economy lately and the spotlight of Brexit illuminating our economy, I'd agree that a takeover is not unlikely.

If it's not the board it is a puzzle why this share is comparatively lacklustre.

I have never liked the new name it was given 'Aviva'. Sounds more like an 18-30 travel company and we all know about those! (Don't we?)

Initial euphoria didn't last and in the case of AV. a good opportunity to take some profits early on.

Plenty more volatility in store.

You think? The share on which I took some profits has since declined and GSK, in which I wished to increase my meagre holding has risen. I already hold as many HSBA as I want and it is now lower than the price I would have paid.

Seems to have been a good time to balance my holdings.

Took some post-election profits and topped up on GSK in the hope of a quick recovery.

You should take profits from LGEN and buy AV.? Assuming you have both.

Can anyone confirm or deny my estimation that M&G's property fund represents less than c. 1.3% of the assets M&G controls?

I bought MNG and AV. today. Although AV. has a property fund, it has more liquidity than most right now.
