Breathe - I'm sure that's not what they were saying during the Spanish flu epidemic 100 years ago.
Biggest difference, imho, is that one is well-known, well-researched, has a vaccine, we know how to treat it and our bodies know how to react to it (evolution?). Covid is new and unknown. I have a feeling that in 10-20 years you'll get covid and think "Oh bugger, caught covid again. Will have to stay off work for 3 days". Covid will mutate, our bodies will mutate, new treatments will be developed.
It's the combination of the two this winter that is to worry about imho.
