MMs, on the other half, are not allowed to trade. So any "trick" that they pull is illegal, albeit, most fall into the regulatory grey area of "providing liquidity".

Mani - I think you might be wrong here - the review is not based on data, It is also an expert opinion about how the trials were designed and conducted. And any professor using different methods will quite likely push their own point of view. It is not just a straightforward validation of our findings data.

Topup - folks seem to be in two camps about this peer review and whether it matters at all.

My take is that:
Happy pharma without peer review -> we have a deal and I'm swimming in cash like Scrooge McDuck.
No happy pharma, but glowing peer review -> we still don't have a deal.

I see this peer review being turned into a ramper's weapon to place some highly leveraged spread bets, ramp it up and then cash out. Probably same folks who are carping themselves right now as the SP is walking down 1% at a time, but wtfdik.

Afaik completely useless step for us at the moment. Other academics criticise how the trial was designed, carried out and results interpreted (often being quite bitter about them because it's not them who came up with the findings), before it can be published in a journal. Purely academic and will not bring us any cash - it won't be university professors buying our stuff.

Pharmas will have their own research teams to do the due diligence.
Pharmas will be the ones with the cash and offers.
Governments will be keen to fast track and fund this.
Covid is as political as it has ever been - governments piling money into experimental & untested treatments now.

Imho all media repeats "findings have not been published in a peer reviewed journal" just because it was said by SNG and this fact gets parroted again and again to fill space.
