@Ruprah - I think you are right mate, probably a lot of the traders are off busy chasing the likes of UFO & OMI that have seen spectacular rises in the past couple of weeks. That's their prerogative of course but I won't be getting caught out by a nice mid-morning RNS - but each to their own I guess.
I imagine we will start to see some of that money getting filtered back into GGP over the coming week or so in anticipation of the results next Wednesday night.

I didn't see all the kerfuffle yesterday afternoon after fallenpoppodom posted as I had logged off after leaving work and didn't look again until late last night. I have seen the message on his profile and TBF, I wouldn't take any offence at it as we have had plenty of banter in the past and I know the context it was said in.
Having said that I can see how if taken out of context it could be considered a bit close to the bone, Personally I'm not one bit bothered by it.

BTW - Dewalt boots are rubbish - a nice comfy pair of riggers are far more suitable for the job you mentioned :-))

I don't think so Mickey - it was 7 weeks between the last set of results and Thursday week is the 29th which is the day NCM quarterly results are due - we will get the exploration report at the same time IMO.

We might get SWAG results this week - but not expecting Havieron until Wednesday week.

@strudel - absolutely mate, it's impossible to tell from the daytime images as there are so many drill-pads that NCM seem to move to and from at random (I'm sure it's not random and they have a defined program they are working to).

If you look at the last release from NCM/GGP on the 10th September then at the bottom of the JORC Table there is a box that says "Further Work"

In here it says the following -

"Further work is planned to evaluate exploration opportunities that extend the known mineralisation. Initial drilling conducted by Newcrest has confirmed higher grade mineralisation, broadened mineralised extents defined by prior drilling and extended the depth of observed mineralisation of the Havieron project. The results of drilling to date indicate the limits of mineralisation have been closed off to the north east, south west and south east, and remain open to the north west, and at depth. Drilling programs at Havieron are ongoing with nine drill rigs currently in operation."

I've done a short video comparing the changes between today and the 7th October since I missed the one on the 12th.

Seems to be more activity to the NE and SE of the drilling area again with 2 new pads in each location. Obviously needed new holes to reach areas of infill that they couldn't get to from existing pads.

The new exploration camp is continuing at a pace, looks to be accommodation blocks actually in position now whereas 10 days ago it was still groundworks.

At Scallywag they have moved from the DD hole at Kraken and seem to have started a DD hole halfway between Kraken and the top of Blackbeard, I did notice this on the 12th so they have been there for a minimum of 6/7 days IMO. I'll be watching out to see when they move again.

Only 8 trading days to go - I can smell the anticipation in the air (at least I hope that's what the smell is).

Maybe GH is going to release the Scallywag results on the same morning, wouldn't that be nice.

A 7.00am release of the latest Havieron results (with 1,000's of metres of the cemented breccia cores) followed by a 10.30am of the SWAG results.

Anyway we should have a nice new Sentinel image in the morning to pore over - GLA Paddy

Byrnecut are the contracting company who do the underground mining at Telfer for Newcrest.

They are advertising for a multitude of positions for New Projects in WA - when was that box-cut and decline due to start again???

Thanks to Pr0t0n on the "other" board here's a link to the MRE for the Séguéla project contained in the Newcrest Exploration report in 2017. As you can see it purely refers to the "inferred resource" and doesn't contain an "indicated" value.

Also you can see from the paragraph on Page 8 that the report was done in-house by Newcrest and then verified by independent consultants.

"The current Mineral Resource estimate was externally reviewed by SRK in December 2017 and
there are no issues or concerns with the Mineral Resource inputs, process and execution. SRK
concluded that the Mineral Resource estimate is suitable for reporting in accordance with the
requirements of the JORC Code (2012). "

I would imagine that the MRE for Havieron will follow the same format and therefore they should be using the most up to date drilling info that is in the public domain - maybe it could be released as part of the interim results in December.

GLA - Paddy

@Lenz, I'm wouldn't disagree with your logic but I think they would probably have it done and dusted long before December to get board approval and jump through all the necessary hoops before having it issued. I think this September quarterly results (even though they will be using figures from 6 weeks ago) would be more likely than the December interims IMO.

That's another point - if they do use those figures then the MRE in December would be based on drilling results that would be 3 months or so out of date.

Morning all - surely the very minimum that the consultants will be using will be the data that is out in the public, all the drilling data that Newcrest / GGP issue every 6/7 weeks is accurate and up to date. The only question is what will be the cut-off point that they use. Surely if they were going to use the data from the June release then they wouldn't have to wait until December to produce their MRE.

I'm thinking that they will use all the drilling data up until the next release two weeks today, That gives them up to 2.5 months until the end of December to produce an MRE. It probably will be conservative on the indicated resource but the last two/three updates have made specific reference to providing an inferred resource so that should be suitably larger.

2 weeks today we will be 15 trading mins away from the next set of Havieron results, I wonder where the SP will be by then??

Jonathon Guy was at Numis but it was another analyst - Justin Chan - who did the broker notes on GGP. Jonathon may have had some overview of the note as he was the senior analyst I guess.

I'm really interested to know how Berenberg calculated that Havieron would be worth $614million and the rest of the Paterson projects are worth $413 - that seems like a very hefty valuation for "unproven" ground IMO.
