Yes Newcrest quarterly is out on Thursday 29th in Oz so we will see it sometime between 9.30-10.00pm on Wednesday 28th.

All the quarterly reports have been accompanied by an exploration report for the past 18months (since Havieron farm-in started) so no reason to think this will be any different. They have had 7/8 weeks of constant infill / depth drilling since the last update (remember this report will be 7/8 weeks behind where they actually are now) so we are expecting a bumper load of core results next week.

It's not just the Paterson for Artemis - they are actively drilling at Carlow Castle also. They should be getting drilling results back from there in the no too distant future - probably before the Paterson so the moves could be more to do with that at the moment.

Interesting that the company have now been directly employed by Newcrest to continue with the electrical work as the NCM camp grows and there's this bit on the webpage.

"Since successfully completing this project Newcrest have engaged CDI directly to provide feasibility around a renewable solution to help achieve their 35% renewable energy target. Newcrest have engaged CDI directly to supply on going labor for the remainder of the project."

So looks like it won't be all diesel generators & machinery out there - shows Newcrest's commitment to sustainable mining at Havieron.

Satellite update is in early this morning.

As usual minimal changes around Havieron with a few movements in and around the centre of the site. Infill, infill & more infill - yum yum for the MRE.

At Scallywag - they appear to be busy drilling away at Blackbeard so they have been on there for a good few updates now - minimum of 10 days IMO, but more interestingly there appears to be activity back at the hole I'd labelled as KRA003.

Now why after 3/4 weeks would they suddenly decide to re-visit a hole at Kraken - Hmmmmm....

Nice write-up featuring both GGP & Thor in this Australian Mining article dated 22nd October.

Only putting on facts, facts & more facts - happy days....

I see that copper is having a bit of a breakout - getting close to the five year high and gold spot price is creeping back towards the $1920 level again

I believe there are some people in the industry in Australia that have described Havieron as a Copper mine with good Gold grades. Either way the outlook is very good for the foreseeable future.

Morning all - I see Thor are up 53% in Oz overnight on some visible gold in samples from their Ragged Range prospect next door to our Panorama license.

One to keep an eye on as they are waiting for results from an AEM survey there also - could have nice implications for our Panorama exploration programme - for when we've got nothing better to carry on with :-)))))

Newcrest update is definitely on the Thursday the 29th. It usually comes out around 8.30am in Melbourne / Sydney time.

The good news is now with Aussie and UK daylight saving hours being active from this weekend that time should be about 9.30pm on Wednesday night instead of the 11.30pm of the last few updates.

Maybe most people might even be sober when the results are released next Wednesday night :-)))))

Have a look here at the proposed mine layout which I've overlain on my Google Earth master that shows all the drill plots.

You can see where the drilling in the SW (which took place in March / April) lines up with the proposed box-cut and the mine infrastructure. So we know now that the planning for the mine on the part of NCM has been in serious design since probably the start of the year - they have been aggressively pursuing this course of action since the farm-in began and they continue to work at breakneck speed to get the decline started and I'm sure they will exceed their estimation to the start of commercial production from Havieron also.

Hi Sporty,
Never had to do it for the Parish Priest but I went to a Christian Brother's primary & secondary school so we had plenty of instruction in "Catechism" and all enforced with the leather strap - didn't do me any harm lol ;-))

Also a retired "altar boy" here - used to love getting picked to do the funerals - a hour off school and a 50p tip - Happy days.

And if anyone can do a "Glory be to the Father" then I can do a whole decade of the rosary - lol :-))))

944 - OMI have a current MCAP of £63M and only 160M shares in issue so they have come from less than £10M a couple of weeks ago. It was always going to have a meteoric rise - just sad I didn't stick a few grand in there when it was 3p.
