Early leafs, and possibly current ones struggled with heat as I understand it, actively cooled batteries are better.
Many electric cars have better battery warranties than any warranty on an engine, my 5series is now out of warranty after 3 years... That vs 8 years for a tesla battery, I know which way I'd go.

BB 8KWh for 68kg doesn't tally with 33kwh/kg that i've seen elsewhere, but yours was from 2014?

Klunk, so it sounds like liquid h2 is not ad dense as ammonia, so ammonia would be better if space is a bigger constraint than weight.

BB, if I'm reading things right with ammonia only being 17pct by weight h2, then you need 6 tonnes of ammonia to replace a tonne of h2. Not sure how the volumes work out.l though, which may be more important on a ship.

Apparently Ammonia is 17% H2 by weight, so roughly 6 tonnes of Ammonia per Tonne of H2.

33.6Kwh/kg, there will be inefficiencies, so lets use 25KWh/kg, so in 2 metric tonnes, that 50,000kwh, so 1000hrs of 50kw charging. etc. So 41 days of 24hr charging, maybe 1 tonne per month in normal usage to deliver 50KW for 16-18hrs a day.
The purity is more about whether it can used in a given application, as the energy density will be similar.

There's an article in a paper about which councils are banning diesel but still have a fleet of diesels, and its most of them. Fire and ambulance would be slower as their vehicles are so custom. But it could easily be adapted to a backup power for a fire station etc.

Twocents, they could also manage when they charge if you are away for a week and do it all overnight, or the industrial equivalent.

Rooky, some are mentioning 30p/Kwh, so similar to fast public charging.

I think they'd love induction charging, put charging mats along the taxi ranks and get power whilst you wait, no need to leave the cab, not sure that charge rates are good enough yet to make it meaningful. But imagine if a 15 min wait gave you 50 miles of range.

Old bee, have to agree, this is short term movement, are you reasons you bought all valid, or even more valid now? If you think they are then you know what to do. Budget refreshes at customers, some in Jan most in April will be key times. Put yourself in the shoes of a customer and their decision making process, and how long that might take. Unless we want to go back to the old days of RNSs about a customer signing an mou.
