Roughly 80,000 containers worth for a day of storage, or 80 sites of a 10x10x10 grid of containers (that sounds almost feasible). 2X10^8 kg/2,600kg

And you also need the production capacity above instantaneous usage to fill the batteries so the overall capacity has to be at least twice what the normal demand is.

Curlyputt, 2 points. 1, if they had of mentioned it what is the likely outcome of that? I'd argue nothing, maybe some shareprice movement, but it wouldn't generate a single sale, it might however of set poor expectations. 2, It's not that rapid though is it? the specs for the chargers are below: The smallest unit can hold 72-288KWh, and a recharge rate of 20KW, so 3-4 65KWh cars from empty will deplete the battery, which will the take 4-14hrs to replenish.
This is with a consumers definition of 'fast charging' like tesla super chargers , well not quite as fast as that. The actual definition of fast charging is 7.2Kw, at which point 3 cars can be simultaneously charged, but in an hour you only get 7.2KWh, so 10-15% of a reasonable sized battery. You could charge more simultaneously but you'll be draining the battery, but in a car park where these are likely to be set there'll be massive quiet periods so that works fine. The problem is it's a very subtle message and telling the public that an AFC charger will take 6 hours to fully charge you will lead to scoffing (and vine can't manage that message imo), but that may not be usage model, the long period charging in commuter car parks etc. is probably more the model given the specs.

But would the corporate buyers really be that interested in the 'fluff' we are not selling to the public. We're selling the head of tesco's infrastructure so that they can get chargers in carparks (so that people shop for longer). We're selling to the head of council environmental services/parking services/facilities. What will convince them? Assuming of course that they already recognise the need and are reading the appropriate trade mags, or actively researching. Would a nicer looking car do anything for them? Would a video do anything for them other than prompt them to look further into it, I'd hope they were beyond that stage now? I might be wrong, happy to admit that.

This is the idea of the infrastructure project that's been around for about 20years to cover the sahara in solar panels and have a couple of honking great big transmission cables (I think very high voltage DC, possibly super conducting) going to points in europe and I'd assume into Africa. But imagine the terrorist target it would make.

A long time ago oil was not competitive compared to steam, steam wasn't competitive compared to horse or barge. Gas wasn't competitive compared to coal, nuclear was not competitive (and arguably still isn't) compared to gas. With scale comes changes in pricing.
If someone had said to you; "we've got this new fuel, to get to it we'll have to drill maybe a mile underground, probably many times before we find something, the equipment will break a lot as the conditions are extreme and the workers will be exposed to all sorts of muck and chemicals. And then we have to build these giant distillation plants to break down this raw material, they'll consume loads of energy heating up the raw material and emits loads of toxins. All of this infrastructure will occasionally explode leaving toxic waste everywhere whilst usually on fire."
I'm sure you'd say it's not worth it, and it could never be commercially successful.

There is a need for a CO2 neutral economy, and therefore localised energy storage to store overproduction and supply over demand, H2 and Batteries are two candidates, this need is only now starting to grow, it will become cheaper rapidly.

I'd like to see planners from the relevant councils there, then they can see them, hear them, smell them and realise that most objections will be fear mongering. FYI there have been a planned campaign of objections to a hydrogen plant in Kent because of fears of a fukushima style event... This is a non nuclear h2 plant.
