How would AFC be involved in that? The round trip from e to h2 to e is inefficient unless it solves some other problem. AFC might use that h2 a hundred miles down the road at a service station, but they are just a customer at that point.

I won't be convinced by the comparison to ITM similar tech chemically and electrically, but a completely different market.

unless you got in ahead of the market wide drops you'd may as well ride it out, if it gets really bad we'll be eyeing up the neighbours as a food source anyway and money will be a distant memory and it won't matter. The only ones that will suffer are those that need the money right now.

ReoninV, I spoke to Graeme a few weeks ago, he called me after I emailed them with some details, and had offered a suggestion. He suggested that he'd get in touch with a potential client at a strategic level and then open the door for David from a technical sales standpoint. This was of course 'in principle' and covering that they were doing this with named clients although it was referred to so to how they would attempt it with the contact I'd offered them.

With the current covid issue I almost don't want them to release news of an order (unless there are more to follow) until things have stabilised a bit. I suspect in the current market an order would have little impact due to the over all derisking that everyone is doing.

I agree that it combusts easily, in low and high concentrations, and with a low threshold to ignite in terms of the energy required.

However your statement was explicitly that mere contact with air causes ignition, this is not true.
To quote "Pure hydrogen tends to explode when coming in contact with air. Thankfully petrol doesn’t."
Ferroty has a different opinion regarding combustion and I suspect that there was enough energy generated in the release that ignition occurred.

Ferroty, for clarity, I agree it explodes, and in this respect it is worse than some other fuels, the range of concentrations is high and the energy requirements are low. However I find nothing to indicate that that it spontaneously explodes when coming in contact with air, I. E. With no ignition source, which was the claim.

Perhaps in your situation the flow of gas along the pipe led to static electricity?

I'm working in procurement at the moment, I would suggest that it could take more than 2 weeks just to get the contract agreed after everyone is happy with prices and performance etc. Just getting everyone happy with each term, liability etc. All the fiddly legal stuff could take more than 2 weeks.

Additionally, when it comes time to decommission a site, that's really easy, vs petrol or diesel tanks that would need cleaning in some way, and there's no risk of leakage into the ground, overall much safer.

No it doesn't explode on contact with air. But it does rise and therefore disperse, unlike petrol vapours which pool on the ground and spread.
