Yes I agree lookbothways was implying I was saying the buyout will be £150m I wasn’t. I like you understand they can force a buyout once they hit a certain percent but the buying it would take to reach that percent would likely take them north of 42p which is £300m MCAP

Exciting time to be a holder here and tbh if the buy out was £300m I’d be more than happy!

Sure, I get your maths. I am simply saying that with a 7.5% stake, there is little the BOD can do outside of the market price and the activities of a potential bidder. There are some chunky buys going through (the ones we can see) and there is potentially some significant stake building going on behind the scenes. I suspect that we may see a TR1 if the price continues on this trajectory (it will be firmly on the radar of the institutions this week - hard to ignore!).

The timing of an approach is of course key. The only thing that matters is the trial results. Of course, J&J have given themselves early access to this by providing the drug FOC. That, I am sure, was their motivation and of course, a stroke of genius.

I want J&J to be the suitor as I am on my personal Myeloma journey. But I also want a good buyout price!

I said I see the MCAP being £150m before results are released not that the buy out would be £150m but they could easily build a stake then force a buy out most likely north of £300m by the time they’ve managed to build a big enough stake to force it

Under Rule 2.7, assuming the bidder has themselves acquired a requisite number of shares (usually 30%), the bidder can officially circulate an offer to the shareholders. the Board can then set out their view (which I believe is what you are alluding to) with advice on whether the terms are fair and reasonable. That is the limit of what they can do. The rest is down to the shareholders and whether they deem the offer to be good. As most shareholders will be retail and possibly (by that stage) small institutions who will be happy with a 25-50% premium, they most likely wont want to hang around for a potential 5/10 bagger, which may be the expectation (again as you allude to).

Its just how the stock market works.

What the fact they have 7.5% of the shares got to do with it? They can reject the offer as undervaluing the company, see it done loads of times, They will then quote the sales that can be achieved in year one of sales as justification and that is the end of that.
