Yes jedclampit, sometimes I wonder if I'd run both cos at the same time better than the two current CEO's !!
Jedclampit, the Govt should also stop all the input cost rises like wages, equipment costs, IT costs, etc. . ?
Sadly Vodafone are more interested in LGBT neurodivrrgent virtue signalling crap than running a great global business.
Down the drain goes more of UK plc
Both in the same boat with SP in the last year. from approx £1+ down to 69p-70p will they both come back
It's about time the government and it's bodies stopped all these price rises in mid term contracts for all broadband and phone companies, they are all at it and it has to be stopped as they are all crooks as it's a cartel.
Porsche1946, you're a very brave man to short ULVR and PHNX unless you gey in and out quickly, very quickly !!
Maybe Moniman there are some groinds for a Class Action though they always qualify their communications away from the Advice area !!
The writing for Vodafone's demise was on the wall about 4 or 5 years ago I believe. Astronomical debts with mature income streams, and all those big broker recommendations of 250p to 300p were total fantasies. All of those brokers should be taken to court for providing misleading or fraudulent guidance Imho. I wouldn't touch this with a barge pole. Good luck to those who got sucked in by the bullsh#te broker forecasts. JMO! Adyor!
...gla.
Kerching….sold my PUTS, did tell you these were going to under .70p. They printed…love capitalism.
12pc yield🤡😂🤡😂, good luck with that. Remember, U.K. shares for trading and shorting…not investing…the companies are debt ridden shyte and the index like the country is going down the toilet. Next short, ULVR and PHNX grip
Indeed LTI, in Vodafone's case share buybacks would be better than dividends.
here comes the div cut, this is one **** share and the ceo couldnt of done a worse job. 97 to 65 since she took over, really
Looking certain for a 12% yield
Yikes
'Even with a significant cut in the dividend, a buyback might be cost-effective and it would still give a shareholder return.'
The dividend is less attractive to me as personal tax is rising across many investment products. A SP rise in an ISA even with dividend still looks ok.
My £1 by christmas is unlikely LoL but you just never know ;-)
At these prices a share buyback looks a better idea than paying down debt - VOD's long-term debt servicing costs are surely much lower than the cost of the current dividend. Even with a significant cut in the dividend, a buyback might be cost-effective and it would still give a shareholder return.
I want the dividend, but maybe 6p ish if no economic growth across footprint end of 2024. The asset sales will pay down debt and could do buybacks. Depends on E& unless they are selling
I can't remember who it was, but someone was calling 65-66p here a week or two back. Starting to look like a very astute call. How can this go?
Hey robleo, no I am staying as well. In fact I bought a few more @67.37. Am I mad or stupid? lol.😂😂😂😂

''Instead they need to start a 1B share buyback ''
make that £2 Billion
Me too at 4k 67.25
They should cancel the dividend that costs over £2.5B.
Instead they need to start a 1B share buyback which would be beneficial to share price and much more affordable
Sidi, well I hope it's not going to be like the Titanic, anyway I'm not jumping ship, too late for that for me
Flec
''The biggest risk with Vodafone is a dividend cut leading to a short term drop in the share price''
cannot see why that wold be a negative on the business valuation.
I think Vodafone should be making large share buybacks and cancellations of shares at these low prices.
Rich investors don't pay fair value. They buy bonds at discount and then take over the company via debt restructuring. Long term assets are always discounted when there are short term liabilities to pay
At under 67.4p
