Cmon Drake , it's about time time you shared with us what you know and we don't know.
Orthern is right: there is no need for secrecy here. Company haven't responded to requests for information about the meaning of 'advancing Cascabel'. If it was more than meaningless guff, they'd have put some flesh on the bones to arrest the SP decline.
Orthern- I did warn you that fort would get upset if you dared to point out the flaws in his ramping. He didn't disappoint!
Ortherncopper,
What exactly do you want to know? When you say 'nothing is happening' did you just make that up in your head? The lengths you seem to be going to these days to put a negative spin on SOLG is beyond belief.
Do you want to know what the 600+ staff are doing on a daily basis? Do you want to know about the Ecuador gov/mning gov confidential negotiations? Do you want to know all about the land purchases that are ongoing and resettlement works?
You have absolutely no idea at all do you? So stop spitting the negative nonsense and demanding details that quite frankly would mean nothing to you anyway.
The $50m royalty funding was ring fenced to ENSA. It's needed for the continued work on Alpala ahead of what looks like a sale or JV deal.
I’d love to know what ‘Continuing to optimise Cascabel’ means when our board say it…. A bit of clarity…. It’s so vague and non specific… just a generic coverall while nothing is happening beyond the strategic review..
Ah, sorry dbw. Took your post before to be things you thought were happening. More of a wishlist? That's all good.
Well they did show I nice picture of Chinese taking samples from a river with NM present ,does that count novice

We are going to be sold and in the meantime we should carry on doing what we do best , exploring.
I think (as mooted by our new CEO) a new (modest but targeted) drilling campaign will be announced in an attempt to add further value ….. they’ve already hinted at the possibility of spin offs so let’s see .
Maybe Solg have lied all along and we've all invested in what is the equivalent in oil discovery of a "duster" you know what people can do with photoshop nowadays !!! oh dear....
Where do you see the new discoveries coming from, dbw? Is there a particular concession that we're drilling that you like the geology of?
Also, what definition of competitive tension are you using when you saw that solg are building competitive tension? Since that term was introduced on this board I think a lot of posters have misunderstood it's meaning.
You are right FTJNY 642 POSTS IN 13 years don't hold your breath
Add I’m confident the share price will repair. The DFS was a waste of time as it was a load of premature studies based on a suboptimal model (20% of the ore body). In this way no one would have achieved a decent price. Continuing to optimise the project will enable a new assessment of the true value of this project in an environment of much higher copper and gold prices.
In the meantime we continue on, cutting wasteful expenditure , hopefully making new discoveries and building competitive tension. This is how shareholder value will be created and all the while a bid could drop at any time.
I’ve never been more certain this will be sold but these things take time and it’ll be worth the wait.
Orthencopper active no more ,and bear in mind the government licence to mine expires soon ,either sell it or the government take it for nothing ,so the big fat cigars will turn out to be roll ups imho
Bozi, I'm not sure I agree with that. Bear in mind, it appears we've stopped work on the DFS and are undergoing a radical restructuring, which I assume involves laying off staff in Ecuador, as well as at senior level. This doesn't feel like a company which is looking to take this much further.
You're right about having 'maxed out' the royalty route, so one assumes were we to consider taking this further we'd have to continuously tap the capital markets for working capital, which would result in an unacceptable level of dilution - and to what end? It's possible we may be worth a bit more -provided the markets don't mark us down even further - but the dilution would negate the effect for existing shareholders. And I'm not at all convinced we'd find it easy to raise more funds - there's a limit to the jam tomorrow argument. And I really fail to see how a jv meets with the ambitions of Sangha & co.
As I said the other day, the most recent round of funding has a feel of being the last for the company in its current form and it's my belief the new management team knows there's little to be gained by dragging this out for another couple of years, particularly given the obvious risks.
Therefore, I do not see any route to improving value by waiting a couple of years, in fact quite the opposite.
Seems like an age since we had any excitement due to a drilling campaign..
It’s difficult to put a positive spin on shutting down all operations, reducing staff and just hoping someone will buy us..
I invested in an active explorer..
Unless of course there is a bid incoming, in which case the timing of 30M share options may be a bit insiderish, so we can probably rule that out, though remembering we’re talking about Solg, maybe not entirely.
at a time when the share price is so low and trending downwards, that now would be a good time to release a positive RNS, nothing particular in mind, just something to shift the pointer from pessimistic to optimistic.
Of course there may be no positive news to release, in which case “any news is good news” would be a good starting point..
Pi££ poor deramping attempt Durham. It was in South East Ecuador on Pacific coast near to Peru and nowhere near any of Solgs priority tenements. But glad you’ve shown your true intent so now we can all ignore your posts!
Earthquake was 6.7 .....not 8.6
SharketMare - 13:11 - There but for the grace of God............
Redknight the amount of due diligence to take a stake in a company is nothing like what you have to do if you take over a company.
The Chinese did due diligence when they bought the first 1% through Valuestone...
They will hve topped that up when they bought the latest tranche and theres not a lot to add to that because everything is shut down...
So we're just waiting for their first bid...unless someone else breaks cover first...
Orthern, careful. Fort gets angry and upset when someone points out the huge flaws in his endless rampy BS. Prepare for a meaningless essay of irrelevant non-examples and further unsubstantiated nonsense.... Best not to trigger the tool.
