The other big factor is of course the ongoing finalisation of FTD between China and Ecuador. I've said it many times now but the reality is... if we are indeed dealing with the Chinese over a potential $5 to $6bln mining investment in Ecuador, then you can bet your bottom dollar or last rolo that they will want the FTD agreed first before committing to those kind of investments and they will want all the 'protection' they can get from lasso and co.
US not happy with China's increased influence in South America's. So bit of politics in play with usual US interference going on no doubt ... they do like to tinker around and stuff the consequences.
Personally, if SOLG updated market and just said they are working toward SR outcome and discussions ongoing with various partners....what exactly is that going to do?? Hence there's not much they can say until they have the nod from Lasso and co. And believe me... they'll need the latter before they can announce anything that involves a buy out or buy in. Lasso hardly going to please the Chinese during FTD talks if he rolls out largest every mining deal in Ecuador goes to BHP or Anglo lol!
So important see the bigger picture.
Ha, there's none of that where I am DBW.
It's grim and grey. A lot like SOLG.
Bozi …. It’ll come
Enjoy the sunshine and relax
What good news is there to release Add?
No drilling, no exploration and not a whiff on the news wires that anyone else is remotely interested, which is pretty concerning.
We're ambling towards end of June with little else but options, resource rationalisation, etc
Is pretty much directly linked to Blackrock selling down its position in Solg and as Fort has rightly highlighted once they have exited this should allow the SP to find a level more reflective of a company in the process of selling a Tier 1 mine to the highest bidder! Personally I’m encouraged by the current news void / blackout as it’s a sure fire indicator that serious negotiations are taking place behind closed doors and once they are concluded we will finally find out how much our investment in time and money is worth and let’s all hope it’s well north of 50p per share and hopefully a lot more than that. GLA
news blackout's going well, isn't it?
Time for the release of some good news, I think.
More likely Blackrock having to liquidate some positions to cover others as the US bank meltdown is smashing all the US insti's.
Fed Reserve can't raise rates tomorrow imho. If they do, then they'll be throwing globe into another bank crisis. This is what happens when they fiddle PoG while trying to falsely inflate the dollar. Powell about to go tail between legs and dropping rates which is not going to help his inflation plans but he might help a few bank buddies out lol!
I am working off these as current holdings (and there will be others that are smaller and not listed):
BlackRock (Luxembourg) SA: 6,777,549
BlackRock Advisors (UK) Limited: 1,001,721
BlackRock: 2,250,834
BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Ltd.: 244,314
BlackRock Fund Advisors: 13,915,528
The big ticket moves that DM rightly points out are the sells from the two funds he lists, which in turn are held by (or were held by) the top two on my list above.
Getalife- you remind me of Harrison on MAFS- a complete schizophrenic.
I think the BGF World Mining A2 holding is the same as the lux holding as identical hence a repeat.
Morningstar useful but think they combine funds with ii's sometimes.. You can better picture using the 'concentrated' holding tab.
Also, Fort, if you select "Selling" and "Institutions" on the tabs next to ownership, then tot up those with Blackrock in the left hand column, you'll see they still hold closer to 23m.
Fort, thanks for sharing. Here is a link to the fund which holds the remaining shares: https://markets.ft.com/data/funds/tearsheet/summary?s=LU0075056555:USD
It would be interesting to know why Evy Hambro and Olivia Markham, the two listed fund managers, have decided to markedly sell down their holding in the company. Perhaps it's due to the shift in SOLG's strategy to not become a miner and instead sell the asset / the company to the highest bidder. Or it may be something from a risk perspective that has changed that means it no longer abides by the fund's risk threshold.
Could always fire off a speculative email and ask them directly, though I doubt you'd get a response.

You can see by the data that Blackrock dumped over 12m+. They are the main reason for the share price suppression as they continue to sell down while buyers have been mopping up stock, mm's will take the price down to wherever they like to get the big deals done.
Blackrock appear to have around 15m left so not much considering they did have over 100m+ shares.
Konwave AG continue to build stock along with Global X.
So Blackrock scummers not gone yet.
With all the excitement, I wonder if anyone has noticed the sp has dropped 4.5 % today. I'm supprised nobody has posted they have topped up. Hopefully someone can post a positive reason the sp is dropping.

They also show how many don't support your views too........
Anon, the amazing thing is, not only does bubble post daily that good news is coming soon. The same 3 people recommend it daily. Mind numbing
Another excellent post adickt. Sums up the pros and cons. If I would of posted that. I would of been met with a torrent of abuse for even suggesting it's not all plain sailing. None the less, your post as always is fair and on the money. Let's hope common sense prevails. And we're not affected
Bubble don't you get tired of posting the same thing every single day, I suppose eventually you will be right.
Indeed, Quady. That's what I was referring to.
Got a feeling news very soon here imho
Quady I'll be holding for one
Morning addicknt. There was a 3 million buy.
But the 12 million u/c trade means no one bought them.
As matched.
Will however be interesting when markets open this morning to see how many blocks fall in the first hour of trading.
This will give us an indication of how determined people are to hold.
I see these two articles as representing separate issues; the specific i.e as it directly relates to Cascabel, and the general i.e the broader political environment.
As far as the first is concerned, we know we are not in a protected area and have been assured repeatedly by the company that there are no issues. To a certain degree this lies within our control and we have spent millions ensuring the local community is on side.
As far as the political issue is concerned, there's nothing we can do about it other than hope the powers in government recognise that without mining they are consigning their benighted country to yet more poverty and instability. Do the politicians wish to leave their nation in perpetual Third World status, or do they actually want to lift it into the 21st Century? Lasso knows the answer, but do others?
Are the anti-mining interests resigned to the fact that Cascabel is covered by an agreement with government and is therefore not a target of their activism, or will they attempt to halt all mining throughout the country, regardless of location outside a protected area?
We must never underestimate the stupidity of people and their governments, but in a country with little going for it, you'd hope common sense would prevail.
Should we be worried? It would be absurd to brush it under the carpet, but we are not in the same situation as other projects and we have little choice other than to trust what the company has told us many, many times. Will it deter outside investors? So far the answer has been no, and the evidence is there in terms of the investment we've received so far.
We mustn't be blinkered, but nor must we ignore the specific situation of Cascabel. As for the rest of our prospects, I've completely discounted them as having no relevance and no value (I hope one day we'll get a pleasant surprise and I'll be proved totally wrong)
In the meantime, I'd like to know who bought the shares on Friday!
As I read the article this doesn’t effect solg as they already hold an environmental licence yet proves how difficult mining process is within Ecuador....imminent tick tick.

I read daily the optimism of what might happen tomorrow. The unfortunately the above link shows what's happening today.
