Anyone got the finish there? 88p?
Velo - where we at with that finish old boy? Send through the invoice when you're done I'll make sure it's paid promptly :)
Think it was Craig, much obliged on the JLP brief. Imma have to have another sniff.
Thanks all :)
"Commodity prices rally as concerns over Chinese demand ease. Data suggesting Covid wave under control in China has lifted sentiment, analysts say" from the FT
…and I thought this was an SLP discussion board!
chat,
hope things went / go well with the treatment
@toptiger
I returned to the UK late last night (travelled abroad with my wife for her medical treatment), but I'm quite busy with other stuff. I'm keeping an eye on SLP via my phone (it's my biggest holding) but I don't have time for research at the moment. I'm back at work next week and will take a serious look then.
Chat, yes year high was 21 pence but at the beginning of the year it was just scraping 13, and in october the previous year was only 5 and still covering from the 2 pence lows of the covid crash, generally really sorry you are underwater but todays news must have settled your mind a bit, here's to more of the same for both SLP and JLP :)
Stoodio,
JLP is a cash machine now PGM projects in SA 50,000 oz
Zambia multi metal refinery in Kabwe (Producing copper (possibly cobalt), plans for Zinc, Lead, Vanadium
Owns the rights to 500 million tonnes of historical copper tailing in Zambia (Targeting initial ramp up to 25,000 tonnes Cu per annum)
Cyprus projects (Potential tie up with Ceres regarding historical copper tailings)
Moving into the eastern limb in SA with new recent acquisitions, general understanding that JLP will build or obtain a concentrator in the region)
Also 750,000 tonnes of Chrome concentrate produced a month.
Company is expanding off its balance sheet now, so chances of placing very small, though I'm sure if the right investment opportunity came along they would do it.
ATB
when i was building my pgm position i considered all 3 (slp, ths, jlp) and went for slp, good choice
now have all 3 but the dead money at ths really hacking me off
chat,
have you decided on AOI yet ?
They really need to rebuild this website
Yes, I recommended JLP a while ago (I hold). and some clown on this board dissed them, didn't rise to it as he obviously had a different agenda and/or was a proper clown. Nevertheless SLP (I hold) still has legs. I will top up on both at the right time, which for SLP I don't think is now, but DYOR
I bought into JLP at 19p, so I'm still underwater.
Charts....good grief. This is a small cap on AIM.
SMH.
I don’t believe in charts but as long as SLP can make profit on downturns then it is a solid company that will always have money in the bank for dividends and growth.
Even at half the current basket price the company is healthy.
i was put off jlp when i started buying slp back in the 3p jlp days, on back of an advfn poster who was claiming all sorts of those same shenaningans stoodio
my fault, shouldnt listen to too many people on these boards
back in at 13.6 just for a play really
It's been 12 years since I even had a sniff of JLP. Back then there were serious shenanigans regarding management competency and the ability to extract their substantial resource. Haven't the foggiest what they're all about nowadays. Might have another sniff - it's been a while :)
Stoodio,
Another Copper deal and a second copper refinery thrown in.
Accelerated progress to 25,000 tonnes copper production per annum
oh, over at jlp some nice copper updates on tonnage, at reduced costs
having said the need for fireworks, ths have a few planned, but is that moving? absolutely not
i just think the UK mkt never ever overpays for any stock so everything is at a bloody discount or "prove it" position, whereas over the pond its the complete oipposite, everything seems overvalued and no need to prove anything

Interesting : The average Platinum price for the Annual Accounts to 30th June 2021 is approx $1, 025.
In Quarter 1 is was approximately $900 and in Q4 $ 1,200. Average $1,025.
Today $1,015.
So SLP selling platinum today at the same price as the average last year.
I buy into the long-term argument on the future of rhodium and platinum demand and the implications for SLP. Don’t want to rain on the enthusiasts’ parade but I’m sure the chartists observing SLP are noticing that the 50 day MA is about to turn down through the 200 dma creating a death cross. The short term trend looks challenging despite the healthy rise today.
Agreed tiger, people just never learn :)
What's happening at JLP?
Tiger, true. People just will never learn :)
agreed stoodio but just dont think steady good progress suits many
need a bit of the jlp rocket that was put out a few mins ago :-)
Sleigh :)
