Do we think with the 2metre potential reduction and the green light this week for pubs to open ... see a nice incline going forward? Hope your all having a great weekend.
Thanks Rugs.
That is a very large uncrossed trade. Maybe one of the major ii's has disposed of some shares. Will probably know more early next week.
This is now imminent from what I’ve heard. Supermarkets have been given a heads up that this may happen now within a week. That is big news for pubs and the difference between make or break. Fingers crossed for the 4th July to reopen as that should help bolster the coffers. Any later and it’s more of a worry.
Btw, first post but long time lurker and investor, also love the posts from Trent, Fairdealer20 et al. Thanks for all your informative and balanced comments.
Did you see someone sell 7 million shares at close today? Is that a common thing? I saw the share price then drop slightly. Cheers guys.
Rest easy, the markets are in turmoil due to the Beijing outbreak so knee jerk reaction for a second wave. Coming week with the easing of UK Covid alert level reducing and MARS results this day next with confident figures should bring an ease to worried eyes.
marstons sp has been rather depressing over the last week.
fingers crossed it goes back up to 70's+ soon
On the question of leases/rent holidays does anyone know when Mars will start charging tenants again.
Some tenants maybe unable or unwilling to reopen when given the ok but the breweries need them open.
I suspect that some people are going to really like the previous post and some people are going to really hate it.
In the background, the Fed is helping to keep it all afloat, of course. Can't do any harm as US election looms but ultimately unsustainable.
Very volatile and little relation to FTSE these last couple of days. I'd say MMs spooking weak holders to collect cheap stock as we approach easing of distancing measures to 1 metre, which pubs say makes the difference between profit and failure. Don't be a victim of mugging.
Just don’t rickroll me on this one ??
How many Pubs do Marstons have in NI?
Beta c. 1.3. Any number above 1 means the stock is more volatile than the index. I'd be wary of buying while the main indices are so volatile.
CORRECTION
MARS moves more than the index , both up and down; in other words it has a high beta, which reflects its higher perceived risk relative to the index as a whole.

could be a whole raft of concerns which is making many in the market nervious. The emergence of further Covid cases in China is clearly having an effect.
Probably just a low point of the day, 4p movement either way isn't too much given the state of the markets right now. I'll top up below 60p if we get there, I'm in this one for the long term 3-5 years. IMHO. DYOR.
I was wondering that myself. FTSE 100 and 250 now down less than 1% and MARS down over 4%. Odd.
any clue why the sp has dropped suddenly??
It appears that BJ has ask for an urgent review on reducing the 2m social distancing requirement. Just on the speculation itself the sp should reach a new recent high. BJ is very likely to try and increase his popularity in the next few days, weeks. Once either the partial (outdoor space) or full opening of pubs is announced the sp will approach 100. All this is due to happen in 15-20 day window. This share has a potential profit margin of over 35% short term. Who doesn’t like a pint??
@tricky752. But if he doesn't and didn't see airline stock as worth/viable holding for the next ten years then he IS doing as he says to do.
