Only saving grace would be a good summer...good weather the last few weeks might have had an impact. For me though...MARS just seems to be behind the curve. Their recent refurbs and sports focussed 'pubs' are what Stoengate and M&B were doing over the past 7/8 years through their different concepts, and the 'two room' concept seems great on the tin but are they going to attract the after work blue collar clientele when there are constant increases in price on a pint to counteract the various uplifts in outgoings? They are still operating a bunch of high street bars that are struggling to break even and cant shift, the current leadership inheriting some very costly mistakes.

As an addendum to my earlier post, the properties that are mortgaged or leased will come into their own at great speed one day. Mortgages will be minimal or negligable, and leases will be re - defined according to the trading patterns of the time , Marsdens took a bold decision in buying or leasing the Welsh estate, then came Covid and the slowdown, both unforseen, but the next year will be critical if insomuch that Mars can hold their position and slowly reduce costs then they can certainly hit £0.55 by the end of this year and every chance of £0.75 for end of 2026 !! After that the future is looking interesting providing that there are no more calamities. Just hope for a stonking summer and lots of families going to our Public Houses to eat and drink, if you find my opinions too optomistic then remember that you bought the shares as well !!!!!!! Just a punt.

That is misleading glowacki. MARS has about £2billion of property assets. The NAV is over 100p. Your attempt to make it sound like it is a basket case is wrong. A chunk of the debt just relates directly to property leases and loans.

Thinking of the next half year MARS will benefit from maybe £8m lower debt costs from debt reduction last year, more again from falling interest rates - say another £2M - another £2M+ from pension holiday. 10% turnover increase in last few weeks alone likely generates maybe £3M additional profit. Falling energy costs, and efficiency and cost saving improvements. Rise in taxes will be more than covered by this alone, so we can already be confident of over £40M for the half year and £60M plus for the year. Forecast is readily achievable. Now trading at a PE of 5 and a bit !

Marston is capitalised at £270m,and has debts of £881...This is why the SP is languishing at these prices, regardless of actual trading... Financing that level of debt is considerable...At these levels Marston is valued the same a wetherspoons (which has much better balance sheet and lower debts) That is why the SP drifts back down to the mid 30p range
