What a day! Nice to see us at yearly highs which can only be a good thing!
I’m still holding out for 140+ but also a small dividend next week would be nice, maybe 2-4p at a cost of only £80,000,000 - 160,000,000 for a company that had £400,000,000 cash to hand back in November? Surely that amount would still be prudent given the route out of lockdown may not be straight forward?
Looking at the official London Stock Exchange two trades totalling 9.2 million shares were moved after hours with some other big trades executed too.
As they are "off-book" does that mean its a direct sale from one holder to another?
Hi All, just to say I've used this website for sometime to get an idea of who is likely to move around during the market reshuffles. http://www.stockchallenge.co.uk/ftse.php
It appears we at 22.0p we are scheduled for automatic entry into the FTSE250? Thus, all tracker funds will need to buy etc.
Does this make sense or have I got this wrong?
Onwards and upwards, recovery is starting to be priced in across the market and I personally can't see ITV at FTSE 250 by September so in my view that only means one thing ---> A higher SP.
Good luck all, will cheer 120 next week ahead of results and potential divi announcement. A small dividend might be the catalyst needed to give us a higher footing so we can aim to be back in the Ftse 100 by summer.
I asked this question a few months ago as back in Nov it was reported there was 400,000,000 in cash held by the company... I can't remember exactly off the top of my head but after looking at the shares outstanding I think we could see a divided return of 2-5p but not the level seen before Covid. The cash to hand was reported along with a reduction in net debt and at the same time as the ramping up of internal strategies to focus the business towards a more "future-proof" landscape as the industry is migrating more online.
Personally I'm holding out for 140p+ as I deem this to be fair value ATM and wouldn't be surprised to see a dividend resinstated next month. Also, if they do not reinstate the divi then a huge amount of debt should be written off as the alternative IMO making us more profitable in the future.
As always, do your own research. The above is just my opinion. Good luck to all holders and well done to anyone who has made a profit!
Miraculously its back to 113 after 30 mins... Watched all the trades coming through as automatic. Would appear to be manipulation at its finest to trigger all the buy orders but that is just my opinion. Let us hope for a strong finish in line with the markets. GLA.
1.5p drop in seconds from 113.7 to 112.2? What on earth is all that about?
Hi All,
I've been watching this for some time and am shocked to have seen the rise to 38 and then a subsequent fall to 22.5...
Finally taken the plunge and looking to hold out for the medium-long term. For what it is worth on HL I was unable to buy and shares in quantities over 1000 shares for nearly 15 minutes. Also, seen lots of big buys coming through today according to the trades section on here.
Looking forward to the journey. Good luck all!
Damage caused by Covid? ...
You mean:
- Further expansion of Britbox platform to other countries
- Record number of subscriptions to the Britbox service
- Best prime time viewing figures in the past 12 years
- Less debt than 12 months ago
- Retained cash to offset drop in profits as no dividend paid in the last 12 months...
You really are something else Thomas. When I brought back in April 2020 I knew this was only going one way and will continue to do so... If anything ITV has exceeded my expectations and I see this heading only one way during 2021.
As always, never treat my 2 pennies worth as investment advice. DYOR. Good luck to everyone.
We've traded sideways for a month during the peak of the virus... In a months time we will know the route out of lockdown, vaccinations will have likely doubled and hopefully transmission will be down, death rates will be down and hospital cases will be down.
We will be approaching the end of winter, things will be looking up, pubs and restaurants will open at some point and the mood of the UK will rise. I for one expect ITV's SP and many other share prices to do the same!
In my opinion it is hard to see us ever returning to such a grim position as we are in now. By September Covid might be a thing of the past (in the UK at least).
Good luck all, see you at 130+ in summer!
I think I recall someone mentioning the market cap needed to reach FTSE250, this link I find very useful in that regard:
http://www.stockchallenge.co.uk/ftse.php
We are currently around 470th largest company by Market Cap on FTSE markets as at 29th January 2021.
Good news is we are on course to be added to FTSE Small Cap index on the next reshuffle which is in March I believe?
Please don't get me wrong I'm bullish on Argo but I'm just thinking in terms of the "Bigger Money" on UK soil to help us cement higher foundations near the £1 level.
It appears after a positive start to the BTC price we have a brutal 1k sell off in minutes?
The question, do we think a lot of "seasoned" investors will shy away from this stock whilst Crypto price movements are so volatile?
Let that sink in... For every $1,000 BTC increases, Argo BTC reserves value goes top by $501,000... Imagine how many coins could be in the HODL by July when all the capacity comes online???
Wow up from 205 last month! That’s amazing! What a perfect RNS to kick off the day!
BTC above 34K and ZCash above 90 should keep us in the 86-90p range IMO. Good news this week and this could make a push towards £1.
Good luck to all holders, really enjoying this period of BTC price stability.
Either you believe 41k is the top for BTC and then you should not hold ARB.
Or
You believe BTC will surpass the 41K mark to hit new highs in which case it might be prudent to hold some ARB.
On days like today it’s never easy seeing huge gains to only be wiped out but ladies and gents Rome was not built in a day.
Good luck to all holders, we will get there in the end! The best things come to those who wait.
After all, if someone had told me this morning when BTC was 31.8k that by 20:00 it would be 35k I’d have taken that!
Where is this mentioned?
Thanks Nige, something new investors here may not have even thought about!
Thanks Nige, yes I would only ever make my own decisions and will do so later this evening after some scouting around. Good luck all!
