Longerwait has come on here to gloat thinking its all over with a victory for the lefty loonies and their unworkable, ideological nonsense.
This fight has hardly started.
Who do you think that loony is contending with?
This isnt some pasty faced impressionable kid in the other corner of the ring.
Battle hardened, legally astute, extremely wealthy and successful businessnen who would have no qualms about metaphorically ripping you a new one if you stood in their way.
Enjoy it while it lasts longerwait .
The same one as Larry Goodman and all the major investors who have put millions into Barryroe.
Are they stupid?
Keep licking Ryan's rear end as you constantly do and soon he will deliver to you the message you do not want to hear, in your eye, hopefully.
We don't know what deal Larry Goodman will strike.
He may want equity but I don't see him wanting more than 51%, the level at which you can stop a company going bankrupt.
He may want new equity. Most people do not realise that at one stage Barryroe had 8billion shares at 8c. We are a long way from that.
And if they went to 8c I would be more than happy as I have bought both Providence and Lansdowne over the years for a "song" and I would certainly be in profit if Barryroe was 8c and pro rata Lansdowne were 2c.
So any deal Larry Goodman strikes if he can kibosh Ryan will be welcome in my book.
And, by the way, do you remember Barryroe finding billions of gallons of hot water. It is possible this is what Larry is interested in; geothermal.
https://www.independent.ie/business/irish/oil-explorer-could-strike-it-rich-after-finding-hot-water-in-sea/37628149.html
This would just be up Larry's street.
There are only three issues I would take with JH77.
The cowboy "deals" all fell through because of the lack of full analysis of Barryroe. Because Barryroe was constituted a very large "shallow" find it would have been very expensive to develop at one stage estimated to need 24 wells so too hot for "cowboys" who wanted a fast buck. The latest technology obviously clearly shows that the "appraisal" well that Ryan has stopped is sitting on a big well in the lower layers.
Secondly, if Barryroe is good enough for Larry Goodman it is good enough for me. Larry has so many profitable irons in the fire that he would not invest in Barryroe if he thought it was a dead duck. Born: 1937 (age 86 years), Dundalk, Ireland
Net worth: €2.455 billion (2019). Why would an 86 year old, multi billionaire waste his time?
Thirdly, if Barryroe is a dead duck why did Ryan move hell and high water to ban it? Because he knows it actually is a runner and he had to stop it so he could keep preaching his "No oil, no gas" unless it is somebody else's. A bit like when I was a student long ago. At a discussion group one numpty stood up and said "We are not Catholics, we are Irish Catholics". Like Ryan, some Irish people think they are special. Why?
Keep the faith with LOGP! It could still be "a little cracker"! Sorry IOG was such a bad investment for you. If you want a binary bet then buy TOM! To address your previous post: times change! But there will always be cowboy speculators.
Maybe not so much these days when finance is so hard to find.
No "proper oil company" would touch this field as history proves, IE total failure over many years to secure a farm in from a major. The only interest shown was by cowboy speculators....
Tut Tut Peter. Don't preach at that zealot. He is currently penning the last few lines of his next speech to deliver from a shared platform with Leo and Michael:
Friends, I conclude my remarks this evening by assuring you that I, Leo and Michael will occupy all the moral high ground until wind and solar reign there supreme. I thank you, my dear colleagues, for your unwavering and dutiful support. May I reiterate to all the many thousands here, and I know I speak for both of you as well, that there will be no race to the bottom in pursuit of filthy lucre and hydrocarbons. Ireland will be remembered for ever for its principled stance and shining example to Russia, China and indeed the whole world. I myself am very pleased to have played a small part in this great endeavour. May I wish you all a safe journey home, by DART of course and then, if possible, an emissions-free good night. Thank you all for your attendance and support. ER
The real reason it was refused was because Ryan doesn't want it developed. The last thing he wants is for a major to come in and quickly proceed with drilling. We are talking about the leader of the Green party in Ireland, a man who has publicly called for an end to fossil fuel use. The man wants villages in rural Ireland to share a single car, he wants to drastically reduce the number of cows farmers can own, he does not want to be the minister in charge of the first oil field in the country.
The government prohibited the issuing of new licenses a few years ago.
Eamon Ryan has exposed the Irish taxpayer to a potentially massive lawsuit to prevent drilling at Barryroe. The idea of him then turning around and giving the licence to another company is laughable! His main priority is to keep Irish oil in the ground, even if it means shipping it in from the middle east etc. He is an extremist regarding climate change and as such has zero pragmatism around what is actually in the best interest for the Irish people he is supposed to represent.
Peter Ryan raises a number of pertinent points in this recent Gript article,..GL S

All good fun longerwait and appreciate your irony. Mostly boys/and many girls are utterly wasted playing the GCSE game: a firmly delivered apprentice type 'use of the hands and brain' training programme provides life long earning potential for those (including me) think Austen, Bronte, and a few others are pure bog roll.
We are all hopeful of a profitable early exit but at least over the water , you have the advantage of been able to shield much off your profits in your ISA , if only we had them over here .
I get accused of being pedantic and then Longerwait refuses to deal with anyone whose English grammar isn't quite right!
I can't imagine the pain he suffers as the English language evolves, innit? As for LOGP, I pray for an early exit at a huge profit.
My shares are held within an ISA so I can envisage tax implications if they are delisted.
Longerwait totally underestimates the grounds on which the case will be fought. The LU application was submitted April 21. The reason? A disvovery had been made but further work was needed that would extend beyond the expiration date of the licence. The case will hinge on the discretionary actions of THE MINISTER since the application was made, actions that have undermined the companies ability to fund and progress work required to declare the discovery commercial and develop the licence. A discovery has been made. The actions of the minister will be proven to be deliberate at worst or negligent at best.
The lack of engagement over recent weeks is a continuation of the ministers dismissive attitude towards logp and bey legitimate claims. The paper trail is in place. His ideology will count for nothing when the legal hounds clamp their jaws on his green and red gentleman vegetables... if he has any.
Obviously an expert in dicktion....
Longerwait to be fair I am not too worried about the standard of written English grammar of the average brake, disc or tyre fitter haha.
I think the government will settle during the ECT process 70/30 and have taken up a position, pure punt but if it winds up the quasi-Marxist eco raving mad nutters even better!
The Irish government and LG could come out of this smelling of roses ( if you can ignore all those nasty and very expensive imports of oil and gas from around the world). If they haven't thought of it already, the government could refund all LOGP's licence fees (20m). Meanwhile LG takes that 40m that was held in escrow. The 'Partnership' offers the combined total + a small extra sweetener dressed up as palatably as possible to see the reaction of LOGP shareholders. The government now has a minority stake in the new venture and the Greens in Ireland will be very happy. Any one buy this? Maybe LG wouldn't (not wanting any minority stakeholder in his new empire). Just thinking out loud.
you all seem to forget that the aim listing is just that, it is a listing on an exchange and lansdowne will have a number of options, do you seriously think that those that have invested £10’s of millions into lansdowne give two **** toots about the listing, the size of the prize and the journey to date should make you at least think beyond aim, it’s just more chaotic garbage spouted by those who don’t have any idea what is going on and it suits there agenda to promote negativity, expand your thinking folks, it’s right in front of you if you take the time to look deeper,..gl s
You are not correcting me . Companies are given time to rectify the matter if that situation is put upon them. Read the rules properly .
In relation to your last point - are you for real?? Politics in Ireland are no different than Britain when elections are taking place -logic does not come high in the agenda .
Not being pedantic - just correcting you!
I'm not au fait with Irish politics but surely even the Greens can't argue with paying compensation for agreements from a previous era which have been reneged? It's legal, not political.
Beardozer, there is a time given -6 months- to rectify the matter as cash shell companies are not allowed on aim - stop been so pedantic .
I cannot see Ryan giving a multi million euro payout to an oil company one year before an election . If anything, to shore up his base, he will welcome been sued by us .
So LG is going to gobble up LOGP? It is possible but only if he is willing to pay the price that the major shareholders think satisfactory. Bidding war between LG and the Irish government to make LOGP (and me) go away happy? - is that possible? If so, we are on the pig's back. LG will certainly know he cannot get LOGP for 30m. Maybe LG and the government, both now garnished with impeccable Green aspirations all round, will have a tacit understanding about 'bids' to keep the price down. It will still be more than 30m! Just thinking out loud, as I said.
"Cash shells are not allowed on AIM" - not true but there is a time limit.
"Maybe the Irish Government will start with a £30m offer" - obviously insufficient and would mean they accept liability which opens the doors. What interests me is if Barryroe is eventually developed under a different Government - could LOGP have a claim on future profits?
The Lansdowne claim is more likely to be in £100’s of millions and there is a queue of litigation funders lined up at the door, plus Lansdowne’s Aim listing is 6 months from mid September, so there is an abundance of time to see what the Barryroe outcome is, plus it is very evident that the Lansdowne backers are not in any hurry for any low ball deal, plus it is also very evident that Lansdowne have no shortage of funding options, the last three fund raises have been supported by 6 corner stone investors and despite a lot of the garbage spouted here, this story is far from over!,..GL S
