Is the past an indicator of the future .12 Jun 2026 17:31
Nerves are getting frayed , which is quite understandable.
Been reading up on Shandong DRC. It seems for foreign direct investments , Chinese regulatory bodies almost Never issue final approvals until the host country has legally bound itself to the deal.
They see foreign approval as proof that the project is legally viable and that Chinese capital wont be tied up .
So , EG approval 2 weeks ago ,basically moved the Chinese approval from “ pending status” to active status.
So historically from previous applications-a final administrative decision from Shandong and the local Ministry of Commerce normally comes 4-6 weeks after the foreign approval. So , IF the past is an indicator of the future , we should have Chinese approval within the next 4 weeks .
