Bronco are you serious.l? This is 2020, everyone in this country wants free stuff and compensation. Ppl in this new world are completely dishonest and only have morals when other ppl are watching. Complete contrast to the country that defeated Hitler.
Quite right again BB. It appalls me that folk think nothing of ripping off Doctors and the NHS when like the rest of us they make a mistake occasionally. Thismay sound callous but getting a few thousand quid off the NHS is never going to bring a dead baby back.
Agree Eccles compensation culture is appalling.
You must live in a very simple moral bubble Eccles It is not always a case of "occasional mistakes" although that can happen. Often it is a whole series of readily avoidable errors caused by systemic failures in clinical care. Just look at the recent case of the rogue breast cancer surgeon. Also it is not just a case of "compensation for dead babies" The first and only child of an ex colleague of mine suffered from avoidable oxygen deprivation at birth and has spent the rest of his life requiring round the clock nursing care. His case was fought by NHS lawyers tooth and nail at every step. They finally reached an admission of liability and settled the case for £1M and this enabled their house and means of transport to be adapted to improve quality of life....the child was 16 years old by the time that settlement was reached. If the NHS had been honest and settled immediately, the costs to the state would have been a fraction of the final settlement notwithstanding the huge costs of litigation and the stress for the parents.
BB "Complete contrast to the country that defeated Hitler." How do you know this? Were you actually there? I I know you just "reckon" that that is the case. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQnd5ilKx2Y
Look around you. Don't think a bunch of woke idiots would eveb look up from their desks.
Have you got EU withdrawal symptoms grayling?
Yes BoomerBower deadly serious, the banks f****d up there was a chance for people who were sold PPI incorrectly to get compensation, unfortunately as I posted our CEO said Lloyds would not contest the claims and you wonder why people made claims.
As a country people were going through a period of austerity the likes of which many have never seen before and you call them for chancing their arm, I'll repeat the banks got it wrong and it was unlawful what they were doing, we purchase shares in the likes of Lloyd's because we expect banks to be above the law, in this case they and others weren't and we the share holders have had to take some serious pain, maybe your comments should be aimed at the greedy bankers.
Disagree bronco ppl were sold something they agreed to then years later decided they didn't want it. Government conspired to hand billions over to the great unwashed.
Totally agree LTI, I took out PPI when I had my first mortgage and it was the best thing ever when I was made redundant, kept me and my family afloat.
Martin Lewis was one of the biggest drivers in encouraging people to lie, and in my opinion be fraudulent, I wrote and told him what I thought he was doing, but he did not have the decency to reply.
We all most probably know people who knew they had taken it out.
Muscorum,
"Erm, the country that defeated Hitler did so due to the efforts of millions of Russians, and support from the States."
The 10k folk working at Bletchley park who broke Enigma won the war . They let commies and US know German intentions before they occurred .
Please don't tell me you're one of these folk that think it's fine for Germans to carpetbomb London , but not ok for us to do likewise to Dresden ?
So if after years customers decided they did not want it who made the decision they could challenge whether the offer of PPI was made in their best interests rather than making it out to people PPI had to be taken as part of the bank lending.
I honestly believe if the banks had taken some of the claims on in the courts and won many, they could prove it was offered separately to the loan in the best interests of the customer taking out the loan, IMO that in itself would have curtailed the tens of thousands that were submitted once bank did not challenge the claims.
As you say we'l not agree on this subject and also footballs just starting, I'll say my good nights.
Hate to destroy myths but my mother-in-law told me during the Coventry blitz they had to prevent looters stealing from their bombed out property.
There has always been bad people in all societies.
My grandparents from Dudley told me the City was Coventrated bar the Cathedral . Your looters just picking embers to keep warm .
Muscorum. Utter nonsense. Germany sent out terror to the world and it came back to them.
Ive always been self employed, and was told without ppi, I was unable to get credits, by law, even though it did not cover the self employed
