With the average house price around Β£300,000 that 4% figure who will have to pay IHT is nonsense, typical socialist mindset I haven't got it so I don't want you to have it either. You pay tax on your earnings, tax on what you buy, tax on your savings, so why should your children pay tax on what you have worked hard all your life to achieve when you die. Or maybe we should spend all our money as we earn it , do not save anything for a rainy day, do not buy a house, so when we retire or become to ill to work, the state will pay our rent and council tax etc, give us mobility cars for free, and then pay for our care when we go into a home, what a mess would the country be in, you should not penalise people and their families for doing the right thing.. Yes Doctors should be paid fairly as should everyone, but 30% pay rise!!! Everyones job is important as we are all a cog in a wheel , and should all be treated equally and fairly.
