Mick that loan was used to defeat hitler. The Irish loan we gave them was because they had an idiitic civil war over having the king as head of state. To equate fighting Hitler with a moronic civil war is a bit rich. We also assisted them when Fianna fails budget went tits up in the 70s and finally when their banks went kaput in 2009. It's not really been independence has it?
Not to mention the Irish stance against fascism where they decided to stay neural against Hitler and describing the period as "the emergency". Rightly Ireland were kept out of the UN till the late 50s on account of this policy, with USSR repeatedly vetoing their membership on account of neutrality against Hitler. After the war those Irish who fought with the allies were barred from professions and virtually all and any public sector work.
Mick given the English bailed out Ireland 3 times on incredibly generous terms since independence the sentiment is a bit hollow. Drive the English out except when we need their money after fighting stupid civil wars etc

I think trump is a chump but so has every president been since George Bush 1, but not nearly as bad as the brutal Chinese leader who wants to squash Hong kong. Things in the world have improved enormously in spite of this in the last 30 years. The pessimism from the bad news industry is absurd.

Crowcast so the quaternary hasn't ended glad we cleared that up. And ice ages are a geologic term, geologists discovered them by studying the gelogic record. You seem to be confusing the daily mail ice age term which conflates glaciation with ice age, stupid ppl like you can't make the distinction. By your reckoning if we had a snowball earth and the ice sheets retreated a yard that would be the end of an ice age. Better to humble when you are wrong crowcast.
