The time of the banking sector will soon be upon us as the interest rates will start to climb. Lloyds, Barclays, best bet in my view. HSBC to a lesser extent. :-) very strong buy.

Usual weekend update
I started this fantasy portfolio in 2016 to challenge various poster's perception that Lloy is 'the worst share ever', 'better else where' or a 'dire share',
On the 8th Oct 2016 I invited WL/Newchurch to choose an alternative ftse 100 company, so I could run a comparison
On 8th Oct 2016 - 1000 quid bought 206 BP. shares & 1905 Lloy shares
Today's value
BP. 206 @ 320 = 660
Lloy 1905 @ 45.4 = 865
In April 2017 Invest4life suggested I add Glencore -
On 22-4-17 - 1000 quid bought 335 Glen shares & 1553 Lloy shares
Today's value
Glen 335 @ 331 = 1109
Lloy 1553 @ 45.4 = 705
In July 2017 Nucky suggested I add RBS/Natwest -
On 12-7-17 1000 quid bought 384 Nwg & 1512 Lloy
Today's value
NWG 384 @ 218 = 837
Lloy 1512 @ 45.4 = 686
In July 2017 Utrickytrees asked that I add BARC -
On 30-7-17 1000 quid bought 479 Barc & 1504 Lloy

DGE 37.3 @ 3484 = £1300
Lloy 1704 @ 45.4 = £774
In April 2020 Theosus asked that I add Circassia -
On 14-4-20 £1000 bought 3891 CIR & 3058 Lloy
CIR 3891 @ 40 = £1556
Lloy 3058 @ 45.4 = £1388
In April 2020 TheBoard asked that I add RollsRoyce -
On 25-4-20 £1000 bought 322 RR. & 3367 Lloy
Today's value
RR. post 10for3RI 1073 @ 133 = £1427
Lloy 3367 @ 45.4 = £1529
This week's observation - Markets - uppy week post StLedgers, Covid Infections continue to fall - hospital cases & deaths remain low-ish - 3rd jab for over 50's, Starmer 14,000 work essay, Petrol panic-visa scheme considered?, Lloy continues to withhold shareholder funds
A very basic comparison that does not include divi yield, IMO those still suggesting Lloy is 'the worst share ever' or a 'dire share' seriously need to examine their concept of investing.
Real deal
30-3-20 I bought 15,000 Lloy @ 33.606 = £5040
Current value -
LLoy 15000 @ 45.4 = £6810 = +~33% over 18 months
A1
Based on LSE daily tech chart -
IMO, Can't see Lloy moving forward too much until that 170 gap is filled on the Barc chart

Yep ,good news for me aswell !!:)
ScandiExpat certainly right about volume traded. It's been above 300m per day twice this week. According to the LSE charts, last time that happened was week ending 27 Feb. Let's hope it continues into next week.
The thing about this share you know you can sleep at night and not worry with the amount of money Lloyds hold and are making ,would be nice for another ramp up to 50p plus
up over 1.4%
if this uptrend continue's....then good news for banks
When everybody as topped up on cheap shares get ready for some big movement
I am very critical of this share as I used to work there in a reasonably senior position and knows the company well. I am still sceptical about the strategy and if even if the strategy was a good one ( which it is not) I doubt they can implement as for 5-7 years they spend so much time on wokeness rather than competency. BUT this week something is happening with the share. So many banks had a rebound after this week's Chinese scare big volume and positive price action perhaps indicates that the share can come alive again. It's worth more that 45P that's for sure especially due to the massive cash generating capability of the balance sheet.
Helping others is my hobby
try it its most rewarding

I have no issues with you and its a free country
You just a little entertainment on here mate, always gives me a good laugh
But, I find it a little weird why people like you spend so much time de-ramping Lloyds Banking Group shares , an old employee ?
Especially when, there is a whole world out there to enjoy :-)
You do a good job of ramping this share successex along with your mates smashie and nicey aka dumb and dumber 63p in 6 months 64p in 2021p 68p 2021 though smashie is so confused keeps changing the price target I may have no shares in lloyds but I have made a donation to the charity 10 pounds stand to make two more donations totalling 30 pounds if the price moves against me what do you 3 deadbeats bring to the table apart from appealing to the masses with your fanciful price predictions

I do believe Rolls Royce is ready for take off....!! I have just found Lloyds such a frustrating share this last month.....I started selling this morning then decided to just clear out the whole lot at 1625hrs today......it was occurring to me like old stock sitting in a shop that wasn't doing as well as I thought it should be doing...!
