''UK inflation today is running at 10-30%.
For example, petrol at the pump has rocketed +35% between May 2020 and Oct 2021.''
First of all inflation is quoted on a rolling 12 month basis.
Secondly inflation is not measured by a selected few items alone.
Thirdly were you not aware of the pandemic with resulting lockdowns and a slump in fuel usage - indeed for a short period holders of oil were paying for it to be taken off of them.
Lastly any convenient timeline can be quoted regarding petrol prices as in shares - the current price per litre is virtually the same as quite a number of years ago in April 2012.
see the close over 50p..imho...could easily go through 51p sometime tomorrow..all in my vho....ps i have been wrong so many times...but also been right so many times lol.....gla
Tomorrow close guessing, 47.85,enjoy your evening, hope I'm way off of course prefer to see£1,dyor.
By end of December hopefully 59 pence.
As we ‘should’ see the FTSE up and that, combined with, virtually nailed-on, great results from Lloyds and we should be in to the 50’s. This is a VERY interesting time for the banks. Interest rates WILL go up, it’s just a matter of by how much. A rise of just .25p will result in hundreds of millions of pounds more profit for Lloyds as it is super aligned to mortgages in the UK. At last it is our time - after 15 years!! I LOVE that! ATB for tomorrow folks. . . .
No Charlie tomorrow, just William, hope he's working on actions speak louder than words theory??!!
Good to see someone without their heads in the sand! :-). Can we please have less abuse on this board and show a bit of self respect in what you say, and dignity.
Well said Wisebear,
there are many who realise that there are many paid negative posters who post on here.
I myself have said this too in the past .

HI
If you read it properly and understand it fully, you will find that the overall tax for banks has been reduced from 33% to 28%. This new rate will be in force from 2023.
Piece of advice for the paid negative spreaders, that this board has some intelligent posters. So, you need to be intelligent to spread false negativity on here.
ATB for tomorrow

Proper UK inflation today is running at 10-30%.
For example, petrol at the pump has rocketed +35% between May 2020 and Oct 2021. Commercial electricity for big factories and warehouses has soared +30% from H2 2020 to H2 2021. The FAO Food Price Index is up a huge +30% from Sep 2020 to Sep 2021.
