''Lamont is a discredited Politician . He rose our base to +15% , causing millions to lose their home''
John46 is a discredited non shareholder poster, posting lie after lie after lie.
Whilst in the ERM some peoples mortgage rate rose to 15% for a matter of days before the UK withdrew from the ERM. The base rate in Sept 1992 was about 9%.
For many months/years in the 1980's the base rate was in double digits.

Sooner the better, keeping rates so low is just kicking the can down the road ,decisions need to be made, our economy needs a balance
LS,
Lamont is a discredited Politician . He rose our base to +15% , causing millions to lose their home . Why do you think Tories where in opposition for 13 yrs .
Lamont obviously hasn't learnt from his mistakes .
Az,
"Lloyds Banking Group is well worth 68p which is just above pre covid levels ."
When Lloy didn't provide Divs it was trading in 80's , at the same LTI was telling us it was cheap .
Following Brexit Ref Lloy was trading @ 55p .
Following cv19 scare it traded down to 23p .
Bearing in mind all the Global variables , not to mention China and Russia flexing their power on the World stage , it will be impossible for Lloy to reach 68p anytime soon .
Former chancellor Lord Lamont says interest rates SHOULD rise

Jealousy has kicked in
my 68p forecast for end of year is my opinion INHO DYOR
Lloyds is a medium term investment which for me has already come good due to Covid hammering the markets last year.
Where there is Doom and Gloom there is opportunity.
Get a life man and do some good with it

Shares are gambling !
19p , you shouldn't have the time for all this , go spend some . Aka falky
"I think we are definitely going to see Lloyds Banking Group leave the 40,s end of month"
Lets hope it is into the 50's and not the 30's!!!
I think we are definitely going to see Lloyds Banking Group leave the 40,s end of month ,
with a Good Statement from Charlie Boy end of month Do Not Be Surprised if Lloyds jumps up 10% in one day IHMO DYOR.
Lloyds Banking Group is well worth 68p which is just above pre covid levels .
I would not be disappointed should Lloyds not reach 68p end of year ,its not a race for me ,I am an investor not a gambler.
Average 19p per share IHOM DYOR
Hope this answers your concern about 68p even though you not own any shares.

There's a poster on here all the time saying 68p year end , i'm just putting my own thoughts and only a possibility not fact.
I don't know . But calling shares wrong won't break me , devil's advocate, that's all posters always say DYOR , spoons laters .
"I'm going to bail a lump after the 11th November couple weeks before yanks shenanigans again."
Interesting... I think I'll keep that in mind. I assumed they'd make a fuss but carry on as usual, but who can tell the future? Something to think about.

Fantasy portfolio ?
I don't have a clue what cut and paste is ! ,
But i think the yanks will default on debt for the first time in history 3 December 21 by objectional senate votes. Only my opinion cos the dollar is getting printed to hell . Lloyds share price end of year bad .
"Ok PSK, you may be right have a good weekend"
May be, It's pretty conclusive if you're going by this site!
Just saying.
Usual weekend update
I started this fantasy portfolio in 2016 to challenge various poster's perception that Lloy is 'the worst share ever', 'better else where' or a 'dire share',
On the 8th Oct 2016 I invited WL/Newchurch to choose an alternative ftse 100 company, so I could run a comparison
On 8th Oct 2016 - 1000 quid bought 206 BP. shares & 1905 Lloy shares
Today's value
BP. 206 @ 354 = 729
Lloy 1905 @ 46.9 = 893
In April 2017 Invest4life suggested I add Glencore -
On 22-4-17 - 1000 quid bought 335 Glen shares & 1553 Lloy shares
Today's value
Glen 335 @ 355 = 1189
Lloy 1553 @ 46.9 = 728
In July 2017 Nucky suggested I add RBS/Natwest -
On 12-7-17 1000 quid bought 384 Nwg & 1512 Lloy
Today's value
NWG 384 @ 226 = 868
Lloy 1512 @ 46.9 = 709
In July 2017 Utrickytrees asked that I add BARC -
On 30-7-17 1000 quid bought 479 Barc & 1504 Lloy
Today's value
Barc 479 @ 195 = 934
Lloy 1504 @ 46.9 = 705
In Sept 2018 Motley Fool recommended Diageo over Lloyds
On 9-9-18 1000 quid bought 37.3 DGE & 1704 Lloy
DGE 37.3 @ 3544 = £1322
Lloy 1704 @ 46.9 = £799
In April 2020 Theosus asked that I add Circassia -
On 14-4-20 £1000 bought 3891 CIR & 3058 Lloy
CIR 3891 @ 45.9 = £1786
Lloy 3058 @ 46.9 = £1434
In April 2020 TheBoard asked that I add RollsRoyce -
On 25-4-20 £1000 bought 322 RR. & 3367 Lloy
Today's value
RR. post 10for3RI 1073 @ 144 = £1544
Lloy 3367 @ 46.9 = £1579
This week's observation - Markets - all fantasy stocks up, Covid Infections up & down - hospital cases & deaths remain low-ish/steady, Further travel restriction lifted, UC £20 uplift ends, Conservative party conference, FB outage, Petrol panic replaced by pig panic, fuel costs rise, Malaria vaccine approved, Lloy continues to withhold shareholder funds
A very basic comparison that does not include divi yield, IMO those still suggesting Lloy is 'the worst share ever' or a 'dire share' seriously need to examine their concept of investing.
Real deal
30-3-20 I bought 15,000 Lloy @ 33.606 = £5040
Current value -
LLoy 15000 @ 46.9 = £7035 = +~40% over ~19 months

Ok PSK, you may be right have a good weekend
