Anyone have any idea why SB said Telfer could possibly be tier 1 again rather Havieron possibly being a tier 1?
Is he saying it would need Telfer’s lower grade to bulk up, could he be playing it down?
Strange way of putting it either way.
A T1 discovery is far more expensive to purchase than a T2. A T1 high grade discovery is very expensive to purchase. He's no muppet. Declaring Hav a T1 would enhance its value and the purchase cost of our 30% by degrees
Agree with you there schmiel, interested in what the analysts make of it next week. Thanks to all for the informed insight atb.
Anything he says about Havieron is market sensitive so he is in a difficult situation. In a roundabout way he was telling you that Havieron is a tier 1 discovery without getting into big trouble.
BTB
At some point in the not to distant future, either GGP or NCM while declare Havieron a Tier 1 discovery. When that happens you will see the 100% sp uplift on market open.
Antigua, i assume because the ore will be processed at Telfer once Havieron is mined.
If Newcrest have to purchase their last 5% share of Havieron at fair price (if I understand that right)it’s understandable that they will want to play things down and not excite the market too much.
Feck this for a game of soldiers. I'm off out now the dreadful, stultifying, stupefying, crushing heat has subsided...have a nice WE all
Thanks for the input guys, it’s great that he still puts us front and centre along with Red Chris in this update considering he will be a month or two ahead in drilling results.
Also, which one of you is Omar? Lol
Lets be sensible... a Tier one discover has a definition....Havieron either is a tier one discover or it isn't...declaring it one doesn't make it one if it doesn't meet the requirements...the initial MRE will determine valuation along with any upgrade to the MRE once the 80Km of drilling is completed by the middle of next year. The MRE will also indicate whether it is a tier one discovery or not or not...the available information makes it more likely than not that Hav is a tier one discovery...
Plenty of upside from here on Havieron alone, then there are the other licences as well.....
GLA Keep the Faith and Patience...
Didn't you feel that the presentation and wording was designed to put GGP in its place somewhat? Thereby, reminding us that we are the tail, not the dog?
The telling moment for me was when SB remarked that Telfer will be helped by Havieron to re-attain Tier 1 level. That was a distinctive 'status' signal of a different kind. I.e Telfer first Havieron second.
Could be that the downplay was a prelude to a forthcoming buyout offer or maybe SB was a bit 'there's more to our business than Havieron, doncha know'.
Blow a puffa value??..not sure what that means
Here for the long haul with my current holding
Or a signal that haverion is tier 1
It would be nice to know what GH thinks of that. Was SB downplaying the value of Havieron and do I have to listen to potential suitors to get full value or do we have a tacit agreement subject to .....
It's just a matter of time before Newcrest and or Rio Tinto makes a play for GGP, I don't see any other outcome IMO.
I'm a great enthusiast of Spanish football and have spent many an evening watching and listening to the endless analysis, and counter-analysis from the patrons regarding their favourite teams.
Seriously, it is just like it on here. I love it!!
Newcrest's report very much focussed on calming the market about short term prospects given that Telfer has limited life without further gold. Very clear from his comments that they are investing now for the future and that Havieron will become a major part of restoring near term growth imo, along with Red Chris of course.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Sandeep Biswas, said “FY20 was a year in which we
invested in the future. We invested $1.3 billion to acquire Red Chris and increase our exposure to Fruta del Norte
and a further ~$400 million to progress our organic growth options and on exploration. We further strengthened our
balance sheet to ensure we are well positioned to deliver our near-term growth options of Havieron, Red Chris, and
Wafi-Golpu.”
That’s an interesting take Hydro, perhaps it’s more about trying to make Telfer look better than it is rather than downplaying Hav. After all Telfer has got to tick along until Hav potentially starts producing.
All foreign companies list on LSE/AIM for exactly the same reason and all companies list for the same reason too.
Gervaise not coming out to play today?
ATB
Mkt Cap is £500 million. A one-off $339K (AUD) fee is hardly significant. Less than £200K.
Biggest issue with this is it would create a mess of the inheritance tax planning of some PIs on AIM.
Writing Monday’s RNS perhaps ?
Gervaise not coming out to play today?
ATB
Apologies guys, double dunted.
ATB
"Gervaise not coming out to play today?"
Not sure why we'd expect him to. It's NCM results. They talked about Hav in general terms but didn't give any new drilling results or make any specific announcements about Hav. For GGP, it's pretty much the same as any other day, I think.
When it's time to tell us something about Scal, we'll hear from him, perhaps not until then.
