I'd hazard a guess, as that is all it can possibly be, that it is because GGP has settled into a regular reporting period of drill results at Havieron. Accordingly, traders jump on the share in the run up to news and then sell a day or so prior to the news release making their 5%-10% every 6 weeks or so.
There is a constant battle between short term traders and longer term holders. it is easier to trade than other stocks because the news flow is known to be on certain dates. I think the next update on Hav is around the 8th December no doubt there will be a spike around 10 days or so before and a sell off the day before news. You only need to look at the historical charts to see the pattern repeating. Longer term holders, of which I am one, have to tolerate this until such time as the true value is proven and the re-rate occurs.
Jambo you are clearly wrong but that’s your issue. The big short was a prime example of the created investment, a swaps contract, moving against the asset owner despite the developing fundamentals. GameStop is an example of manipulation by both buyers and sellers that generated sentiment with the mass PIs trying to push the Sp up and the powerful hedge funds trying to push it down to close positions that became unprofitable. Ultimately some PIs were left holding shares at a massive loss as did some of the hedge funds.
Both scenarios contribute to the original posters question. As PIs we expect every positive drill results to increase the SP and when it doesn’t it must be down to manipulation or shorters. If you are long wait it out and true value will come through, be confident with your own research and decisions.
Watch the film "The Big Short" and look at what happened to hedge funds over Gamestop. Will give you the basics of what happens and how things can go wrong when market participants leave themselves over exposed on the wrong side of a trade. The efforts that the "professionals" went to to maintain the market and their position is unbelievable. Not by any stretch usual. It you believe in the future value of the projects GGP has ignore day to day movements as people have different view points on price but more importantly the timeframe in which the price will move one way or the other.

So JoebloggsUK, you are concerned about everything that is going on with your shareholding but your own history reveals your deception. You refer to owning 6m shares at prices ranging from 2p to 33p yet your positing history is limited to 19 posts with the first re GGP being Sept 2020 when the share price was guess what.......not 2p.
You post in protest of how bad the company is whilst supposedly holding in excess of £1m in shares. Perhaps its time you just jog on....
do the maths on the size of the area and use the specific gravity of around 2.7 (i think, happy to be corrected) as a multiplier for tons.
Not worth answering them hydrogen, if I sell my shares someone else is buying them. One person decides its time to sell whilst the other decides its time to buy. Every trade is a buy and a sell. The crucial aspect is the moving average price is it going up or is it going down. This debate is so infuriating. MMs will be moving he price to find buyers and sellers and they just make their margin o the spread so have no interest in the longer term price. Both sides of the trade should be printed so it is possible for those interested to see the true transaction. The technology exists but does the market want PIs to see what's going on?
Shame, I used to enjoy looking at your charts and commentary from time to time.
At these prices it would not surprise me if the corporate brokers were not building positions for their clients in the open market. A bigger II base would be welcomed and I dont care at what price on the open market they buy them. The SP will rerate this year at some point due to increase to the MRE, successful drill results across any of the targets being drill tested and general progress at Havieron through the Growth Drilling.
Plenty going on and more value to come.

what happened to your website bonkers?
Funny isnt it how everyone assumes that a corporate broker only operates by equity capital raises! That is not the case is it:
https://www.canaccordgenuity.com/capital-markets/what-we-do/investment-banking/debt-advisory--restructuring/
Corporate brokers also have access to debt and may well be facilitating loan facility. NCM have provided a loan facility of $50mUS which was on the basis that such should pay GGPs share of the mine development costs. GH stated that further down the line the company ought to be well placed to access the debt market and therefore an equity capital raise not required and doesn't provide best value to shareholders.
GGP already has plenty of cash for current activity.

What are you on about Robbie2017? He is not a director and therefore outside and can do what he likes. There is no director manipulation. He was invested for c5 years, perhaps he had a big capital project or perhaps he is taking some profit to start a new venture. It is no ones business but as CEO he took it from a 27m MCAP to over £1b MCAP.
Lets not forget the 4 stage farm in with a 7 year timescale being completed in less than 3 years......
Phenomenal rate of progress and to quote Sandeep Biswas....every time we put a drill in the ground we find gold.....
Look at the presentation....200Km of drilling...and then the announcement from NCM...158Km of drilling....lots of news due on the 35-40 holes for which results are expected.
Excellent short to medium term upside...
Good luck all LTH Keep the Faith and Patience....
So Alamo55 you have read everything and infer that the use of the word "potential" means that it is uncertain as to whether commercial production will occur at all let alone within 3 years. Let me clear it up for you..Newcrest have so far spent USD45m+ drilling the bejesus out of Havieron and, the Newcrest board have approved USD150m spend on the decline to get to the ore body.
This is all under a joint venture agreement that had a time frame of 6 years in which to deliver a pre feasibility study and a decision to mine. The decision to mine has already been made and such is abundantly clear from the words spoken by Sandeep Biswas and the speed with which Newcrest have progressed the exploration campaign. A pre-feasibility study is expected later this year (September according to Sandeep) so within 2-3 years of a 6 year agreement.
Oh that's right they also entered into a Juri JV on other assets and provided a funding line of USD50m for GGP to contribute their share of the mine development costs.
Your effort to create uncertainty is ridiculous and it would be preferable that if you have decided not to invest then so be it and move on to your next investment. There is no further need for you to frequent this part of the BB or indeed to offer your stupid thoughts...

Well done but you do realise that Berenberg have put a risked target price of 33p and a derisked price of 66p out there based on drill results to early December and Newcrest will drill 65km between now and end of June?
GH has done a brilliant job since he took over, under his leadership Newmont came on board, even though that did not pan out, Havieron was acquired at a steal and one huge deposit was discovered which enticed Newcrest into a JV with a great deal. The SP has gone from sub 1p to a high of 38p.
He is moving on and those shareholders that have and continue to profit from the company's fortunes just need to wish him well in his next challenge and hope that Shaun can build on the foundation provided. I am sure he will. There is much more to do and a good 10 years of exploration across all of the assets we own today.

Just to add JET, not just a major partner, a major Partner that raised Cash last year to fund Havieron and Red Chris and, a Partner that has, at commercial rates, provided GGP with a funding facility to fund GGPs share of the CAPEX....
Having made the discovery, the significant risk for any junior is funding....
Or perhaps GH is promoting Shaun Day's ability to continue the co's frequently stated intention of acquiring new assets that represent good value?
Completely true Freddie2 if you are looking at the ground 2 inches in front of your feet...but when you lift your head and see the bigger picture those trades that are behind today will be well in front at some point in the near future with 65Km of growth drilling over the next 6 months. Havieron will be a producing mine in less than 2 years, as per Sandeep Biswas, and then there is all the exploration opportunity at other assets as well. Havieron on its own justifies the SP at 30P+.
The funds were buying at 27p and continue to buy despite the negative impact of the short squeeze across the markets... NCM got their funding arrangements in place late last year so no issue there and a clear funding pathway for GGP to develop Havieron with NCM has ben outlined.
12motnhs ago less than 3p today less than 30p having achieved a high of 38p. Next 12 months will once again be transformational.
Good Luck all Keep the Faith and Patience
