TMT,
The very best of luck to you with your new found life path and vocation, I really do wish you all the very best and along with many others will sorely miss your wise rationale and postings.
Maybe you might consider a monthly GGP sermon / analysis, just to keep us all on our toes?
I will certainly miss your analytical contributions that have at least in my own mind been head and shoulders above so many other contributors and that have provided many with a very usefull analysis of how to really think and look at matters so very differently.
I will miss you here. You are one of the few I follow, if for nothing other than your language and expression.
Safe travels.... Ian
TMT: thank you for your update regarding your future plans. I hope that it all works out for you; I can well imagine that it will be a fulfilling experience. I will miss your considered and insightful comments; always worth reading. With best wishes to you. CB
Great retort TMT. All the best for your future, and thanks for your hundreds of insightful posts over the last 3 years or so.
Best of luck TMT. Have very much appreciated your insight and posts here. GLA
Thanks for all the kind comments. Thanks again to Bamps and TomE for pointing me towards GGP.
Apologies to those thinking I was pushing religion here, that was not my intent. I agree that religion has been used to cause a lot of problems. (So also have investing, chat forums, sport, politics, and sex.) It has also been used to accomplish a lot of good. I hope to be one of the latter kind.
ATB to all of you.
What a lovely cause to be involved TMT, I sincerely wish you well on the next chapter of your life, I hope you continue to post to keep us up to date with how you progress, I am sure there is a very proud women looking down at you with a large approving smile! All the very best to you and your family.
I enjoy posts like this. It helps you to understand the person behind the keyboard and brings the board to life that little bit more. I hope everything works out for you TMT.
So glad and happy to see you have found a path forward TMT, my mother died very suddenly and unexpectedly over the course of 36 hours after appearing to be fully recovered a year after major surgery a few years ago and is still truly heartbreaking. Just days before retirement too so all the plans my parents had made over in that one weekend of being admitted to hospital feeling ill from flu like symptoms and sadly departing.
My dad too says he will never get over it as you don't after loss of your loved ones but is definitely happy with life again and found new priorities and interests. I am sure your wife lives on in your children and grandchildren in the way they will go through life with her lessons and guidance. I know exactly what my mother would have said when needing her advice still and her guidance shapes my life in always trying to be kind and thoughtful and help others where possible the way she was.
Not remotely religious but I always appreciate how their faith helps guide, inspire and support so many around me in their darkest moments and am sure your wife would have been very proud of you as you will be helping inspire and support others :-))
Definetly struggling to see a man of the cloth keep involved in investing as your mentors suggest, but you might be able to give some interestingly themed sermons using trading examples nonetheless .....
TMT - you will be richer than all of us! God bless you
Good luck, Matt
Totally agree Mush.... not in any way pushing religion.....
All the best TMT.. thanks for posting..
All the best on your new path of life, TMT!
Best of luck TMT, you have humbled us all. Following your dreams is wealth in head and heart. Stay Safe.
TMT,
Personally I know when I look back over my 56 years there are times where I have asked God as to 'why something had too happen'.
It has only been years later when I have been able to see exactly why and appreciate that whilst at the time it was truly awful (i.e. the sudden loss of my dear mother to a stoke at only 59 when I was 34 for one) that it happened for a reason (my father and I never really got along before she passed but in the years that followed we grew closer as he relied on me more and more we now have the relationship I had always wanted with him).
The loss of your wife is most likely something you will never get over ( I know my father still hasn't some 20 years on now) and as you say "When God closes a door, He opens a window".
We don't know what life has in store for us, but we can rest assured as Believers that whatever happens it is all part of his plan for our lives, and that he knows what is best for us.
We can also rest assured that eventually, one day, we will see those we have loved and lost once again, and never to be parted for all eternity (He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. Revelation21:4).
Good luck with the next chapter of your life and God Bless (and I for one will miss your postings on here).
