The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Little Johnny was in a spelling and grammar test as school when the words contagious, an adjective, and NEIGHBOUR, a noun, came up. After their spelling, the words had to be put into a sentence.
Little Mary ,when called upon, stood up, spelled out the words then said, " Our neighbour told me she wore a mask because Covid 19 is a very contagious disease"..
"Very good Mary," said the teacher, and so it went on round the class. When it came to Johnny's turn he duly spelled the words out then admitted that," I'm not really sure about one of the words but, when our neighbour tipped over his dustbin my Dad laughed and said it would take that contagious to clean it up". Stay Safe.
Hi,all, been away for a few days to a friend in Canada. We decided to go wild camping, off piste, or whatever they call it, in our hired RV. Before we left our/my friend gave us a small Berreta hand gun for safety. He said it was for protection as it was possible that we might come across Grizzlies. He warned that, except for a perfect shot to thr eye, the Berrata would not stop a grizzly but might gi ve him/her a fright and stop it for a second or so.
What a saviour he, or rather the gun, was. Third night, and deep into the forest, we inadvertently disturbed a mother grizzo and her cubs. She came charging at us out of the shrub. Under these circumstances you've got to think quickly; no time to take the perfect shot, so I shot the wife in her knee which just gave me time to escape. That really was a close one in which only my lightning reactions saved the day and my life. Good to be back to enjoy reading the banter. Stay Safe and appreciate life and the sacrifice of others that allow you to live it.
One of my favourite ' reported' quotes out him was 'hadn't seen much of him all match then he popped up out of a hole in the ground to score the winner'. Typical Greavsie. Saw him play in Sydney on a Chelsea Aussie tour in '64 or thereabouts. Everybody loved Greavsie. Stay Safe.
This BB will be with you all the way Bellers. I've been married 53 years (always remember '68; United won the European Cup) so I appreciate what you're going through. Always tell my wife that 'the best thing I ever did was to get married. First to United then to you'. Yours sounds like another good 'un. We will be willing her through the dark days. Good Bless. Stay Safe.
No trader, you will of course have noted that Tiggerman wrote ' I believe'. He neither stated nor claimed it to be fact, merely expressing an opinion based on constructive research together with calculated guesswork. IMO I BELIEVE that time will determine that his hypothesis will be found to be reasonably close to the truth. None of us, without direct access to the boardrooms of the companies involved, can provide confirmed facts, thus this BB is about opinions. Most of us are appreciative of the opinion of others; agreement is neither guaranteed nor expected, just pointer to and for discussion. Stay Safe.
Indy, perhaps I did stretch a point. SD (GGP now) has been appointed to make decisions on our behalf so, whether or not we agree with him (usually in hindsight) lets get behind him, not judge him on the outcome, but on the available evidence at the time he made the decision. I am not sure how many countries entered at the outset, but only 2 teams made the final and we were one of them. Well Done England.
Turnpike; I would love the opportunity to meet you. I have lived on this earth for 77 years, bar 3 days, and followed football for 68 of those years and have been fortunate enough to have never had to confront a complete and utter idiot/ cannot put it in writing. I would just like to learn what one looks like and how he thinks, if he (unlikely to be a she) actually does.
Note in Diary; must make every effort to get to next Stag gathering. Must meet Tiggerman, a man who has had 4 wives and lives to tell the tale(s). Personally, I have found one wagging finger/talk to the hand, more than sufficient, in fact too much to handle; especially with a daughter as back-up, God Bless Her. (Have to put than in as she occasionally reads my 'belles' lettres.
Codders' I thought at first you must be from Hull, Codders being a derivative of Codhead, a local term of 'endearment' in that part of the country. However, your statement of Devon Ale, which I always find flat so I always take a sparkler with me, being good I realized that could not be so. However, the 'endearing' term I still find quite appropriate.
SD has been CEO / manager for nearly 3 months by my reckoning therefore, as as an ardent (though diminishing) supporter of the 'noble' game, IMO if he hasn't won the league i.e. at least trebled the SP by July he should be given a few mill. for doing a lousy job and sacked. We should then consult Roman Abramovich as whom we should appoint for the next three months.
SAS (16.10); people seem to forget about the quiet and humble Callum Baxter. He is the Exploration geologist who I believe was the brains behind most, if not all, of the discoveries. GH was a brilliant, but short term, CEO, but most of my thanks go to Mr. Baxter.
