Sharegnomie, yes why not. They will, I anticipate, blame all their ills on SS without defining the alleged mistakes he has deemed to have made. I believe they, the majority you hide behind, are wrong, however to quote Tolstoy 'wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it. SS, UU.
Sharegnomie, again you have made a sweeping statement regarding the abilities of SS. This time about his ability to run a company. However, when you cast aspersions on another's abilities, it is only fair, in the interests of common justice, that you should at least attempt to support such claims with fact. Therefore please explain exactly where you believe SS has failed in any duties he owed to the Company. Once you have detailed these alleged failure it will give other posters a chance to comment, agreeing or dis-agreeing with your views. SS, UU.
Sharegnomie, not an odd question at all. That is excepting your have omission of pointing out and explaining that which you believe has not been done correctly in the first place and, by correctly, I mean not performed in the manner that would be expected by another of similar skill, knowledge, and expertise; with over 30 years experience, SS is highly skilled. SS, UU.
CFRPflyer, re my post of 08.56; thank you for your support, however it would appear that suggesting that some people of influence and/ or position may be inclined to act for personal rather than public interest is too contraversial for this BB as it seems to have been removed. Another step in favour of the thought police. I am beginning to believe that us war babies really were the lucky generation !iving between 2 era's where, in some countries, freedom of thought was considered too much of a privilege for the plebia to be allowed. SS, UU.
OldsCool, there is some logic to your post which I can understand, but I suspect SS will be under contract. However, there are other examples and, although off topic, I will give one. My son, owner of a small business engaged a member of staff just before lockdown, which resulted in him being unable to claim the furlough payment. Although struggling himself with mortgage etc himself, he paid her out of his own pocket of which she was fully aware. He rang her on Monday, to arrange her hours for his re-opening, only to be informed that she had got another job. I'm afraid, as much as I dislike it, honour has bypassed us, it is screw or be screwed in modern life. SS, keep the cash; a lot of people who have not suffered real pressure, do not appreciate the stress coming from the responsibility of any, let alone a struggling, business , large or small, can play havoc with health and mind.
P.S. If Westie50 is about, great retort, love Pinky.
Nomlungu, if you would clarify exactly where you consider that SS has personally failed, i.e. his failure to act in the manner a reasonable person would be expected to act under identical circumstances, as opposed to simply moaning about the share price then, after an adult discussion, the merits of your proposal may, or may not, be supported; IMO. SS, UU.
Grayling, getting too serious for me now. Personally I try to avoid allowing yesterday taking up too much of today's time, preferring to look objectively at the positive possibilities of tomorrow. SS, UU.
I could almost guarantee that they will not be sensible and waste the money raised enjoyably. They will have something up their sleeve, probably investing in, or buying, something. Wish I knew what, they're no fools these two. SS.
Shame, Grayling, but it's the leather; I was going to install an hydrogen fueled engine, courtesy of Loxley, but the tree hugging vegans would be scratching rude words on the paintwork, which itself contains derivatives from oil. SS, UU.
And who does not go to work for their own gain? I note that SS is personally responsible for the water ingress, operating the drill, and everyone's decision to back, as they perceive, the wrong horse. I suspect there are a few attempting to associate him with Covid-19. S S, U U..
Napoleon allegedly, before appointing a new general, was always less impressed by ability than by fortune, always enquiring as to his luck. If SS were to seek other employment, luck, on his CV would not be No1; surely it has to change at sometime. Whilst I have a modicum of sympathy for those who bemoan SS's luck, I am unable to understand what his detractors believe he could have done differently that would have provided a 'guarantee' of success, although it very interesting to be advised. I would further appreciate advice as to whom, or what type of CEO, they would appoint who could provide this 'guarantee'. Stay Safe.
And I quote from openDemocracy,
When the Audit Commission was finally abolished in 2015, town and parish councils were rid of any public oversight or scrutiny , beyond the efforts of local democracy campaigners. This means that, if you wish to complain or ask questions, your only recourse is to tackle the offending council itself or go to the police. The first option is usually doomed, the second nuclear and, without compelling evidence of criminality, is equally futile.
Parish and town councils are not overseen by the government ombudsman, no standard of conduct exists for councillors or officials and no higher authority to which to appeal if you are dissatisfied. Town and parish councils are literally laws unto themselves. They set their own rules, with complaints against themselves being investigated by themselves and, if they so decide, can banish you from view as a vexatious complainant.
