UT of 15.8, where did that one come from?

I didn't find the StarB post particularly insightful - it was just trying to justify again, under the guise of having superior knowledge of ETFs or valuation techniques, that Blackrock hold a certain percentage of NCM and have done for a while. Hyd apologised quickly for his tiny error which he fully explained at the time. Yet this has now been dragged out again. All for what purpose? So that StarB can try and demonstrate that he may, or maybe not (we do not know), have knowledge in a particular area of expertise.
StarB: "I reacted this morning to the post that “..Blackrock just bought 10% of Newcrest…” because it was both absurd and misleading. I’m happy to accept the posters assertion that it was a mistake, but it is not the sort of mistake that anyone with knowledge of capital markets would make".
Oh come off it - you don't need knowledge of capital markets to find out who the major investors of a company are. This was just a self-fulfilling post to try and get 1-up on Hydrogen. Nothing more, nothing less. That's my take on it. There is no need to single one individual out for a tiny slip which wasn't particularly misleading - in my case I re-checked the holding shortly after Hyd posted. Anyone could have done that within 30 seconds.
We were told about SD's background in M&A's multiple times by GH.
100/200/300k sells within seconds of each other towards the close...shorting bar stewards throwing the kitchen sink
C'mon SD give us a beautiful mineralisation strike at the Jury first thing tomorrow

Bad England there but you know what I mean!!
Good few months back it was said that anything over 5m Oz we would be a bidding war on our hands, with talk of 30-40m Oz who knows???
Thankyou mr 2 posts Chad - you just proved my point
You have to wonder if the Mm’s read these boards lol. Have to try that one again tomorrow.
Have a good evening everyone.
With this being driven so low I feel a buyout may be Forthcoming! Hello 88
Cycle low close it seems. I wonder when SD will realise that we are now off about 60% with all the good news that has been coming out since Jan. This is with stellar demand from massive institutions for shares, because they know was less than we do here. God help us if the market is right and we get unexpected news! Hopefully tomorrow we will have something to cheer about.
Fantastic post starbright. Articulated way better than I've tried on several occasions but sums up my thoughts 100%. No disrespecting anyone whilst making an extremely salient point! Thank you.
I wonder how much that trade cost at 16.23.44 0 bought 0 sold lol but sp at 15.50 for the no trade.
You do have to laugh.
Starbright that was the most eloquent and dare I say insightful post I have read in years. You are clearly a very intelligent and articulate person who likely holds or has held, senior management positions. People would do well to heed your words rather than challenge you. I do not put Bamps in that context, by the way.
007,
I am not a regular poster as previously mentioned but I am a regular reader… I remember another poster who used to use the ‘sheep’ reference regularly.
Either way I can assure you that my research goes far beyond just asking a well respected poster for his unbiased opinion, I am very much aware of Bamps background but I have yet to come across any other poster who has such an incredible gift of being able to visualise spacially the distribution of an orebody from a set of drilling results. I’m sure that ‘gift’ was an extremely useful attribute during his career and it is definitely an asset that I appreciate as part of my own research into these other explorers.
I do think your regular derogatory comments are indicative of your lack of self worth, possibly one of the reasons why you style yourself after a fictional hero… I’m not a psychiatrist but I do feel a little sad for you. Bit of advice from a sheep, life is a precious gift, don’t waste it on engaging in bitterness and conflict.
Late drip into red any minute to keep up the trend.
Tom, don’t hold your breath. The UT trade will more than likely be red. Same old every day.
Think it’s unlikely, I’m afraid.
US 10 year, $ up Gold down
Commentators keep saying we are in a secular bull market, it doesn’t appear very bullish from where I’m seated.
It’s Incredibly frustrating.
There you go Daveri, that wasn’t so bad was it. Thinking ahead of what might happen instead of only going off what your told via RNS.
At this rate, you never know we might just end up chatting over a pint or two sometime ahead.
Stranger things have happened before :)
Couldn’t agree more StarB …it’s only a few posters but the sheep follow them because that’s what sheep do….I mean would you take advice on gold mines from someone who made a living from building motorways…laughable but it is what it is…
Nevertheless based on company fundamentals still happy to be invested in GGP.
Be nice to see a blue finish for once, may put a smile back on some faces.
Starbright you have misjudged this board big time, we have grown up from the early days and a lot of us work very well together, with some very knowledgeable posters on EDFs.
Hydrogen may have been in error this morning but who was it who took on the GDXJ when they got their free float figures incorrect and had to scramble for more shares.
Those of you who sold high and made good profits should have a great deal of thanks to Hydro for his dedication to this share
Thanks Bamps.
Appreciate your reply… a true gent!
Mr Chad
Hi Mr Chad
With Artemis they took a big punt and grabbed whatever they could as soon as Had01 was announced. They took a punt.
I think their Paterson dream rests on Apollo, all the evidence at the moment looks compelling and just about to start drilling.
Be a bit of a blow if they don’t find anything but I’m not expecting that to happen.
As far as Antipa goes I’ve not followed the joint ventures to any great detail but I’ve not seen anything of interest.
Minyari is interesting I’m still trying to make up my mind if what they have is economic. The sections show it being very bitty .
I haven’t invested in either I’m still topping up Ggp
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
Nail-hammer-head.
There's a group of high-profile posters on this board whose contributions on geology and mining consistently demonstrate deep knowledge. They are also true experts on GGP itself, with incredible attention to detail and deep investment in following the company measured literally in years. As a result they offer valuable insights on the topics where their expertise is founded. They are - to a very large degree - the reason that I persist with reading posts here.
These geo/mining/GGP experts are enthusiastic supporters of GGP and the de facto curators of this board as a result. They hold the whip hand in terms of social capital, and to a great degree control the content, flow and nature of discussion. But there are perimeters to their expertise. Posters demonstrating deep knowledge of mineralisation within crackle breccia zones are in fact very unlikely to be knowledgeable on the inner workings of ETFs, or the relative merits of valuation methodologies. There are very few - if any - such multi-domain experts, because deep expertise is necessarily specialised and can take a lifetime (or at least a professional career) to acquire.
Anyone with a professional capital markets background reading these posters contributions on topics like valuation, market dynamics and securities operations will recognise immediately that their expertise in these areas is comparatively thin. I reacted this morning to the post that “..Blackrock just bought 10% of Newcrest…” because it was both absurd and misleading. I’m happy to accept the posters assertion that it was a mistake, but it is not the sort of mistake that anyone with knowledge of capital markets would make.
There are - clearly - many inexperienced investors here who are neither experts in geo/mining or capital markets. If this describes you then be aware that demonstrated expertise in one domain does not translate readily into another, and be careful to ensure that you are invested in the company and not only in the assertions of its most enthusiastic supporters.
