inclined to agree with you. ticking over nicely with always the prospect of getting into a more productive area and the possibility of some large diamonds.
Don't know about anyone else but the core metrics reported in the first half numbers seem OK to me. Nothing flashy but the general progress seems to indicate costs and operations under control. At this SP in my view it's a cheap call option on large diamond finds.
Ridiculous!
MKT CAPT ETC study tonight
Agree but looks promising.
Need a lot more finds like this to get the sp moving
70 carat makeable, nice! ??
Maybe better luck with the next update!
Surely the quarterly update is due now?
Unfortunately I think you are right Sanibel to write it off - you never know there could be a nice surprise at some time in the future but with massive debt and making a loss on production there doesn't seem much hope here unless the geology or diamond market throws up a huge surprise.
I have written this off. Just bad to worse here.
Also the updates and newsflow to investors is poor imo.
Gl though
Sani
Let's hope there's some good news with the update which must be due very soon.
F###ing hopeless.
Bad to worse!
Ditto, just a wee 20000!
I have increased my holding as I stated in would on friday. seems some one else has done the same.
Sounds like a good idea!
Roughly 2% dilution. recon I will increase my holding by 10% on monday before production update later in the month..
I was also in from KDD days with a large investment and avg price of 29p. Based on the optimistic forecasts and greed,I didn't cash in when I should have done and watched it slide since then. Sold out when reached 29 again so no loss but also no profit! Capital tied up for a long time.
Recently had a re-think and thought surely there must be some value here so reinvested on what could be a ridiculously low entry price and will just tuck them away in hope. Much happier with my 1Mil. UKOG and ANGS shares and expecting big things happening starting next week. At least they're getting more oil out than FDI are getting diamonds!
I think you;re right Copland. I've personally been in this stock since KDD days and averaged down significantly 2 years ago when I came into some money. What a big mistake!!! My average is now circa 55p and I cant bear to offer up any more money to try and average down further. This stock had so much potential. Ill keep my fingers crossed for all of us suffering share holders and always keep a eye on this board. If you hear any news, please keep us posted. I don't post very often, but I always keep an eye on what's being said. Good luck to all.
Looks like everybody has left this board in disgust at the failed expectations of FDI, however it's a new year soon and I'm sure there has to be a turnaround with lots of lovely (hopefully large) gem stones for 2019.
In any case, whatever happens, a Happy Christmas to you all and to be honest, if you're and optimist like me, this is the ideal price to make a top up.
Anyone know the percentage price difference between a makeable and a sawable stone?
Doesn't seem to be showing here but is as follows
Firestone Diamond plc is pleased to announce the recovery of a 46 carat white, makeable diamond from its Liqhobong Mine in Lesotho. The stone was recovered undamaged and will go on sale at the next tender which is scheduled to take place at the end of January 2019.
The company is also pleased to report a stabilisation in pricing for the smaller, lower value stones (-3 grainers) at the recent sale which was concluded on 7 December and which confirms the trend reported by other producers.
Further details will be included in the Q2 production update.
An image of the diamond is available on the Company's website: https://www.firestonediamonds.com/sales-marketing/special-stones
Paul Bosma, Chief Executive Officer, commented: "The recovery of the white 46 carat stone is good news as we start mining across the pit towards the northern side of the orebody over the coming months. We are also pleased by the fact that the prices of our smaller, lower value goods have stabilised and we look forward to further improvement as we head into the new year on the back of an expected positive diamond jewellery retail season".
Nice stone. Is the start of recovery?
