SSE Enterprise Telecoms unveils plans to extend network reach to 55,000 additional business postcodes. Competition for CityFibre’s Business Park roll-outs
SSE opts for Openreach Dark Fibre Access instead of CityFibre’s Dark Fibre https://ssetelecoms.com/insights/press-releases/sse-enterprise-telecoms-unveils-plans-extend-network-reach-55000-additional-business-postcodes/
Looks like the SP has peaked and is on the downtrend again.
Isengard7, my opinion is that Cityfibre is a takeover target for consolidation purposes as long as CITY delivers its network on budget. We don't need earnings from city fibre.......recession might come but damn we all need broadband in this information age. Data is getting bigger so the network needs to get bigger! The management team are not the best but just look at BT.
telecoms industry have a lot of unsavory characters and dodgy management teams. i suppose that's just AIM in general. i have heard the management team for CityFibre are good people. apart of my research into the company involved talking to people within telecoms as to their opinions on the company. so thought I would share it. obviously do your own research and ask people who work in telecoms what they think.
People i spoke within the industry agreed it was a decent independent or alternative provider. Makes me think its worth a punt.
to be fair i don''t think there any decent alternative network providers outside of the big providers like BT/Virgin etc KCOM seems to be only focusing on Hull and Yorkshire. I can't think of that many competitors for CityFibre outside of the big providers. Cityfibre got big plan to offer its network nationally. I spoke to someone who works in the telecom industry and technically knowledgeable on fibre and networks etc the company is worth having a small punt on it.
I hope you are right as you sound very sure, anyway I will be taking profit soon I get to that 80p target then you can apologise for calling me stupid.
Guys, calm down, you get too excited very quickly. CityFibre's technology / model is out of date. Competition will wipe it out.
The guy is blind, warned him not to short as CITY is so cheap but relevant to virgin media, SKY and even BT's fibre network expansion. Only problem is possibility of cash raise for expansion which could be dilutive.
What's up with you sp to much for ya at the moment?Must be hyperventilating somewhere.
Hey humph, I hope you have covered already, cityfibre could be taken over easily by Sky / Virgin media. If not I hope they don't raise more money (dilute shares) just to expand.
Better cover your shorts mate.....you can't fight momentum, trend, grants and big funds. The steady rise in SP is a sign that it's not being pumped to be dumped. We shall see who is stupid very soon, my target is 80p.......yours must be 30p.
Yet another stupid comment from H-hi. Some mothers do a've em. Don't celebrate yet, the SP will be going down next month.
No posts huh, I guess you're busy trying to cover your shorts. Please do cover your shorts before openreach bids for City along with a counter bid from SKY / Virgin.....Vodafone might want a piece too.
Should be very soon :)
Hump, You are so smart that you have nothing positive to post here......just trying to scare people off Cityfibre. Good luck and you are the stupid one.
TalkTalk Business to Adopt Openreach Dark Fibre http://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2017/04/isp-talktalk-business-adopt-bt-openreach-dark-fibre-cma-ruling.html
H-hi, Read all the comments below before commenting or you'll look more stupid. Regarding the fine, this is not a parking or speeding fine where you get a discount for early payment.
City will go under soon because of £35,000 fine which could actually be £3,000 if paid within 28 working without appeal. Humph, at what level are you looking to cover your shorts? 100p?
Oh well that will be 100,000,035 we will be debt then I assume going by your figures! Lol
And the statement Mr Plonker.... Despite this, there had been no significant improvement in the performance of the company. Angus Carmichael, Scottish Road Works Commissioner, said: “The performance of CityFibre has been monitored and scrutinised over the last year. Staff have also met with the company on two occasions. In addition to CityFibre’s annual performance review, performance reports have been issued on a quarterly basis and updated statistics were available to the company on the Register throughout the period in question for the company to monitor. Despite this, there had been no significant improvement in the performance of the company. A particular incident in Edinburgh on 27 February 2017, which could have resulted in a fatality, further demonstrated CityFibre’s lack of compliance with road works legislation. The company has subsequently carried out an investigation into the incident, the findings of which confirm my conclusion that they have systematically failed to meet their statutory duty to co-operate under Section 119 of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991. In view of their clear performance failures, I am left with no option other than to apply a financial penalty. As the failures are of a very serious nature, compromising both safety and quality, I have decided to impose a significant penalty of £35,000 to send a clear message to all organisations undertaking road works that poor performance is unacceptable.”
And their response Mr Troll...... Greg Mesch, CEO at CityFibre, said: “As a builder of the UK’s next generation of digital infrastructure, we pride ourselves on maintaining one of the lowest failure rates in the industry. It is for this reason that we were so disappointed in the reinstatement issues resulting from the speed of our full fibre rollout in Edinburgh. “We have been working closely with the Scottish Roadworks Commissioner, City of Edinburgh Council and our contractors to deliver significant improvement while construction progresses on Edinburgh’s world-class Gigabit City network. Our plans are already seeing strong results with a 91% pass rate recorded for Category A inspections in the first quarter of this year. “In addition to this improvement we have also committed to investing a further £35,000 in additional health and safety training for all our project staff and contractors across our 40-plus city footprint. We aim always to deliver the swift, safe and thorough construction work our customers expect. “We are very proud of what we’ve achieved in Edinburgh in just 12 months – the delivery of over 150Km of full fibre infrastructure to hundreds of schools, libraries, council offices and businesses, completely transforming the digital capabilities of the city. We will learn, we will improve and we will continue to deliver the infrastructure this country so desperately needs”.
