@northernsoul, I sold most of City shares when they peaked @70p but now planning to sell a few remaining ones.
Hmm so does that mean you have been holding City all the time you have been saying sell, Interesting EIH DYOR always
@lacroix, Nothing wrong with "Strong Sell" . I agree with the article and am going to sell cityfibre and buy Vodafone which is a much better investment. Good article. Your "Strong Buy" is wrong.
Nothing to do with the article. It is your 'Strong Sell" that is wrong.
@lacroix, how can I be wrong? I did not write the article. I only shared it. It is written by the famous Motley Fool. Check it for yourself https://www.aol.co.uk/money/2017/08/02/one-turnaround-stock-id-sell-to-buy-vodafone-group-plc/
No you are wrong EIHumphreys. This company is winning orders from BT and its suppliers are getting strong increased orders from Cityfibre. BUY BUY BUY

The last few days there's been some big buys going through yet the sp isn't moving much , why is that in the past this share would move on so little volume. Anybody know why this happens? Sorry if I sound naive is it something to do with 200m placing.
Hello. Just wondering why it's gone so quiet? Any AGM or public info out there?
I agree, they have done so very very well to raise so so much money. The Institutions must like the long term story very very much. But DYOR always
i get the impression they will use the some of the £200m placing to wipe out big chunk of their debts. So I don't think their debts will be any problems. They've done well to get the placing of this size through the door.
ElHumphreys respectfully i disagree. £200m placing. that won't double the value for shareholders but it does more than double the value for the company. gives it the firepower it needs to make acquisitions such as Entanet. Actually £29m for Entanet is a bargain. I don't how familiar you are with the telecoms industry?, but Entanet is not your run of the mill ISP. It offer a lot more than just ADSL. its offers wholesale to resellers as well. Not only does it sell lease it out its circuits but also transit/backhaul and cololocation etc. EBITDA of nearly £2m and turnover over £30m against a £29m purchase sounds like a bargain to me within the current market. Its actually a very tidy company to buy. and its backhaul and transit infrastructure ought to create more synergy with CityFibre's network. Very decent acquisition in my opinion. I will be topping up off the back of this news.
My thinking is aren't they raising money through the share holders and other investment companies and not borrowing. Plus Woodford investment management ltd have agreed to buy £36 million pounds worth all at a price of 55p which isn't far off the price we're looking at now. Is this not why the price is coming down to that level short-term , sell and buy cheaper at the offer price why not? Can't see it going much lower than the offer price of 55p, imo north is the only way now. Let's be fair Elhumphres if this hit £5 tomorow you'd find a negative.
Won't be double market value as the shares will be worth a lot less. The Companie's value won't increase by floating all those additional shares on the market. Also the acquisition of Entanet, a UK ADSL based (copper) broadband ISP for £29 Million is a bad move in my opinion. Cityfibre already has about a £100 million debt. A recipe for disater I would say.
any thoughts on this :)
How about this then .... http://news.sky.com/story/gigabit-cities-builder-to-double-market-value-in-200m-deal-10937085
I think I do understand telecoms very well after 25 years as a solution sales person in several global infrastructure vendors ! But I agree this is not Cityfibres model as they are not an actual service provider and as such only facilitate dark fibre infrastructure.
mrcautious, I don’t think you understand Telecoms. To put multi-Gig down a single fibre, you need supporting equipment and the correct Network Architecture, which CityFibre does not have.
I dont think you understand telecoms very well - you can put far more than 10Gbps down a single access fibre if you want/need to.
Looks like City will close on a Price High. That looks positive to me. But always always DYOR
Although the SP will only go down below 50p and is unlikely to rise due to fierce competition and CityFibre’s out of date technology.
Me too. May buy if it falls below 50p.
yeah, it's kinda peaking.........i'm not going to lie, i've sold out and taken profit elsewhere. BT CEO looks bruised by his bonus chop so he might double his effort this year. I will buy City Fibre @ 60p again if it drops.
Yes so so good for everyone. Fantastic news. More of the same would be great . Thank you
Northernsoul. To clear the confusion, Infinity plus is a BT product and not a SSE product. SSE offer Fibre connection access up to 10Gbs (10 times faster than CityFibre). And yes it really is Great News, more Business customers will be able to get Internet Service 10 times faster than CityFibre. https://ssetelecoms.com/products/business-internet-services/extreme-internet-access/
