Haven't touched these for quite sometime but looking quickly at the chart, they are more than grabbing my attention at 140p Any followers?
I enjoyed the first few months trading CER but low and behold as soon as the breakout happened, I didn't own any. Been waiting for the sp to slip and now at my sort of level, pref below 215p Any input out there?
CER - having taken a lioberal bath in blood this week, i deemed it prudent to reduce my market exposure ..... almost without exception, those that i culled have moved ahead, especially CER, of which i have been a long time fan ..... no idea why the move i am afraid
cer cynic 1 stb 0
CER -looks like a good finish to the week!
CER - not that much traffic but good gain for the day ..... no news except that deutsche bank (clients) have built up a holding of about 13.5% .... perhaps cer have found a sensible home for some of their money
CER - Gold seems to have some form of equilibrium in the middle $500s at present. Difficult to see how we're going to get around this!
CER - There's been nothing but sells for the last week or so. I'm planning on staying on the sidelines and hope to get back in at 190-195. The current decline is almost certainly a correction rather than a problem.
CER - I basically agree (See my post from Sat). I just thought that without any apparent reason for today's rise it was a good idea to take profits and hope to buy back in at 190-200. Personally, I think a fall back to 200 is more likely than a rise to 250 at the present moment.
CER - this company not only has gold mines in its own right, but also holds 22% of EKA and 6% of VOG ..... Thanks to their recent settlement in ukraine (or wherever), they also have a stash of money in the bank ...... I cut my stake by 50% on the settlement but am more than happy to hold the balance.
CER - Not quite sure why these are up today, but an 8% rise for no obvious reason suggests lock in profits and sell to me.
With the sale of Nez for 45m and vog and eka worth around 20m, this values remaining assets at 30m. This means that any sort of fall from current prices makes this a very safe, strong buy. Otherwise, I still reckon it's a buy. If the other mines get going as predicted this'll come good, though without Nez upside potential is limited.
CER - read my various posts of 3rd Feb ..... they just about say it all
I would have expected a rub off effect from VOG in the share price based on CER's 7% holding. But they are still low - could be a good buy before the market catches on again? wot u think?
CER - best guess is that CER will now concentrate its efforts in Khazakstan, which of course will include their major holding in EKA. Even so, there is bound to be a time lag while the (excellent) management get its brain back in gear and works out their best strategy and way forward .... Hence the action i took. If there is significant fallout, down to say 145, then I may well buy more.
CER I was thinking same as you and was going to suggest that you sell some. I never did buy these and had watched in dismay as CER kicked the EKA ass. I did buy into EKA at 105.5 I reckon we are overdue info re start of production and cashflow at EKA and those CER bods will want to announce something good at this time. I honestly do expect a positive statement from EKA, but would not be surprised if it were also about delays. We are practically half way through Q1 and this was the all important quarter! And in December they said they were still on track. And as you rightly say, any gain in EKA is a gain for your remaining CER.
CER - while I don't think this latest news is remotely disastrous for the company, my guess is that dealings will go vefry quiet until such a time as CER decide how and where to put this extra cash to work ..... As the shareholders have had a pretty rough ride over the last months, my guess is that the price will actually fall further ..... With that in mind, I have taken a profit on 50% of my holding and will keep the balance.
CER - while awaiting some informed feedback, sp has started to recover quite sharply. Whereas it reacted 23p on the announcement, it has now recovered more than half of that ..... and I don't beleive that can be bear covering either.
CER - news flash does not bring good tidings ..... will try to discover fuller implications and will post again
Thanks for this one - just ot back from Italy to see growth since your tip last week.
CER - Not huge volumes, but about double average ..... No huge single purchases but virtually all buyers ...... Up 34p today .... Thank you very much and I hope that at least a few of you have got on board
CFDs - Quite right .... Just feel your way in gently .... Don't know which company you will be using, but you should be able to build a relationship with your contact there to give you some guidance in all sorts of ways.
CFds - Ok cheers for that cynic. I dont mind a bit of risk as I feel its good for the soul (I quite like my extreme sports I do), so will be giving CFDs a try, assuming my broker accepts me, but will be taking it bloody easy though.........
CFDs - If you buy a share you are predicting that it will rise! Buying (or shorting) a share through CFDs is no different ...... NO you are not tied in to a timescale at all; you can get out whenever you choose. You are actually dealing in the shares themselves, but in a slightly different format. ZOO - I had a CFD position in those, but got out when I did not like the look of where it was going. Sure it cost me money, but then so would it had I held that same number of shares. ELP - I was short of these, but only held that position for a few days and then decided to take a modest profit. ULT - Again, I have a CFD position in these, but as I said before, it is the same as holding shares except I only put up a % of the total share value.
CFDs - I have been tempted for a while now, but to be honest they make me nervous. As far as I understand it you have to predict the direction of the stock movement, but I have not been able to find out what time frame this is done over. Are you required to stick to the brokers nominated time frames or can you specify your own parameters? I have started the application process for CFD, but the introductory PDF's did not give detailed info. I understand the gearing protocal, but predicting stock movement is bloody hard, especially when the risk is so high. For example look what happened with ZOO! Are you CFD-ing ULT? Makes sense if ULT's BtB goes national. Could web sites like British Bulls be useful in CFD useage??
