With you sisteract, lots of flashy technical words enormous loss as a ratio of revenue and that doesn’t include the generous dilutive LTIP’s. “Nothing” here for regular PI’s. One to avoid until it generates net cash, if it can generate cash.

I don't know Pokerchips. Bird have had some pretty big names onboard for quite a while now and it's never been translated into figures. So what...yet another big name.. 400K a year over 5 years... well that's really going to shoot the lights out. I really don't know where this heading....maybe it's the start of something..maybe it isn't and in my opinion the" trust us ' jam tomorrow approach that bird seems to have adopted is waring a bit thin.!
Is there some sort of closed shop operating Pokerchips with the incumbent media reporters using their software rather than Blackbird which would see them eventually exposed by better reporting. This is why I have always advocated Blackbird should have a subsidiary platform to disseminate news by freelancers worldwide. The threat is there to the BBC/ITN that on the spot Youtube like reporting would be fresh, evidential and realtime and would attract viewers as a result with news and not political/talking head input to brainwash us.
I think it is important to understand just what being part of EVS means .....it is an incredible achievement ..especially when you have to consider that the Blackbird re-branding only happened in May 2019 , and the new reputation has only really grown since then, with Ian on board as CEO ..the new brand recognition is therefore pretty new
The potential access to EVS customers is big on a global scale and a most of the hard work is done in terms of getting the contract and recognition by EVS
The Strategic Direction for the company is
1. Strategic Deals aimed at Global Deals
2. Leveraging and Scaling through Partnerships
3. Adding a much wider market via a self service model
Shockwaves have to wait , Sisteract .....the name of the US Broadcaster (PBB customer) has to wait ...they still wont reveal the name :-(
hopefully we wont have to wait until this time next year for the next PBB deal or this is going to be one long slog!
What was that a few months ago !!!!! shockwaves through the industry !!!!. Is IM prone to exaggeration !!!??
The presentation was very positive for the tech and revenue generation via the EVS sales team. That said, Ian was clear that we are a Long Term investment which will potentially deliver huge returns but not for a while. Once embedded in a customers suite though, it’s a long, consistent revenue stream but each contract will take time. Mine are in the bottom drawer for a few years now but will top up on weakness. Strong future if you’re patient imo. GLA
Good buying today, hopefully we finally put an end for the latest retrace, I added few last week and today so looking forward for what most of us hope, transformational contract/s next year.
GLA.
"...the seamless end to end workflow will be bring enormous cost, time, carbon efficiencies and performance advantages to media companies and end users."
this is the kind of thing Broadcasters want .......seamless end to end workflows with clear cost and efficiency advantages
EVS has become a "one stop shop" for broadcasters who look to get everything they need form one source ..rather than deal separately with a lot of different companies
They recognise the benefit of having this "ecosystem" of companies to assist them with their specialised products ..which then gives EVS themselves more global recognition ....being used at the very biggest sporting events the world offers ...with total reliability in what are very complex broadcast set ups
I personally think BIRD are working with EVS and Fox Sports .....but Fox at the moment keeping that quiet .....remains to be seen ...but maybe once the World Cup is over which both are currently working very hard on...something will be announced .....still speculation on that front
As someone else pointed out, if BIRD helped EVS win this contract.....

It may be other companies will start to consider using the technology more seriously. I think it's an important milestone to hit and glad they got it done before 2023.
FOBI now turning into FOMI - sellers now looking at feeling they need to get back in ...especially as the IMC discussion tomorrow will bring a lot of clarity to what has been going on in the background
" the year end financials "
you need to be able to separate the Enterprise side of the business , from the Creator side of the business ......i.e separate the R&D investments from the core area performance of the business .....
Dont be over concerned about "losses" when there is investment into new products and areas ....
no business can expand its opportunities without investing in its future growth areas ...
I understand your view as prima facie €2m over 5 years is tiny BUT I think the key here is that it proves that the Powered By Blackbird tech can be configured by individual licensees to do exactly what they want and that is the game changer. Patience will be required but will also be rewarded imo. GLA
i feel the same, it's a nice announcement reputation wise and good for the business but when we get to the year end financials it'll be the same old story perhaps for another while
I must admit I’m slightly underwhelmed £2000k over 5 years, £400k a year! Hardly company changing. I understand is min, but nothing about potential, and will have implications for further sales but….. I assume presentation tomorrow will inspire me.
" but new name wins is what will get investor attention"
when you are looking to gain traction with Tier 1 and Tier 2 top companies in the business .....it does take time ...you have to build a commercial relationship and you have to been seen to have the right company structure, attitude and a whole lot more ...
However , when these relationships bring the contracts then they can be for 3-5 years and that is when the hard work pays off
You actually dont want to messing around with big sales team trying to get small contracts with lots of smaller companies , because that actually needs a lot of post sales work on top to manage .....
BIRD has developed a very good reputation with some of the best players in the business ... EVS being one .....
Also may have to wait until a company finishes its current contract with another provider before being able to take over a contract ....
The road to sp recovery starts here. Those are chunky Buy trades going through! GLA
Poker, agree that they have good recurring deals in place that renew from year to year. But Bird need to be winning more new business. There have been very few new name wins over the past 9 months. Its great that they can expand revenues in their existing clients, but new name wins is what will get investor attention. The video space is very hot at the moment. Small growing companies in this space, like LucidLink are posting growth of +100% YoY. Need some decent new wins now, not hype messages about Ian attending a royal event.
Great tech, however I can see Amazon or Adobe buying them up
Topped up today.
