You said : "They have given up on the Blackbird product and strategy that has been driven for the last 5 years under Ian and now reinvented themselves as ElevateIO."
You made that statement.....I didn't ..you did....
So..I am sorry..but that is not correct , hence you need correcting ...
You don't need to be "on the inside" to know that they HAVE NOT given up on the Blackbird Enterprise product
" Of course they have changed their business model completely. They completely shifted their focus from b2b to b2c. This is a completely different business model, messaging, target customers etc. They let go their key marketing people, who were b2b focused "
MikeyB55
with respect, you are mixing up two different things here, as a result of BIRD having two very different product offerings ...targeting very different customers
Their business model is terms of marketing is independent for each of the two products
They let go of marketing people in the UK within the Enterprise business and are using their OEM partners to promote and sell the product, as well as using key existing people in the USA to market the product at key trade shows etc .... in Enterprise they haven't changed focus from B2B to B2C ...
The second product Elevate is a natural B2C product and it has not had any marketing yet , but will use influencers and social media etc more than having a full in-house marketing team
"Their business model has changed completely."
well the business is the same, but the marketing in relation to each product is independent of each other , so inevitably it is going to be different ..because they are two completely different products
with respect.... it appears that you are the one who is missing some of those "facts" and mixing up certain things ..... and you are the one making statements that .well need to be corrected
Poker, here I have been thinking you are an insider, but you don't have all the facts on this. Of course they have changed their business model completely. They completley shifted their focus from b2b to b2c. This is a completely different business model, messaging, target customers etc. They let go their key marketing people, who were b2b focused. Their business has changed completely. You are very quick to shout down people on this board with different opinions, often without the facts. Chill. Life's to short.
The reference to online collaborative technology for the accounting industry is an interesting parallel to make. Xero took 11 years to get to 1m customers (2017). Expect Elevate.io to be a lot quicker given that online working / collaboration is now a thing.
Very impressive.

I thought people might find this interesting. (maybe their sales team mostly!)

Nice to see SP looking a bit stronger.

Thank yuo for your response. I was concerned that Google might be entering the Elivate market. It would appear not the same product at all. That is not to say one of the big boys are not looking at the video editing space. They could of course buy us out, if they would be allowed too. Hopefully Blackbird will get a move on now they have a product to sell.
"They have given up on the Blackbird product and strategy that has been driven for the last 5 years under Ian and now reinvented themselves as ElevateIO."
What nonsense...
They have created a new product , but HAVE NOT given up on the Blackbird product....they are currently exhibiting at NAB in Las Vegas , for goodness sake after recently being at a conference in New York.
I think it is fairly common to update LinkedIn profiles , so I would not suggest doing so means one thing or another .... I would not jump to any conclusions , although it seems you already have
Has anyone noticed that Ian has update hi LinkedIn profile. It now reads like CV looking for a new position. Revised to be an entrepreneur that raises cash, resets strategy etc. From past experience when this happens the individual is marketing themselves for a new job. They have given up on the Blackbird product and strategy that has been driven for the last 5 years under Ian and now reinvented themselves as ElevateIO. Different market, user base, pricing model, marketing & sales model, etc. Wonder if his revision of his LinkedIn CV is a reflection of his belief in the new strategy. Thoughts?
I think it is important to see and understand what Google Vid is, and what it is not ...
" Google Vids is very much not an app for making beautiful movies… or even not-that-beautiful movies. It’s meant more for the sorts of things people do at work: make a pitch, update the team, explain a complicated concept "
“The ethos that we have is, if you can make a slide, you can make a video in Vids,” “No video production is required.”
" Based on what I’ve seen of Vids so far, it appears to be roughly what you’d get if you transformed Google Slides into a video app."
https://www.theverge.com/2024/4/9/24124168/google-vids-video-ai-workspace-app
Considering what's going on in the video editing world just now and the massive development of AI within video production, it is imho quite astonishing that share volume is so low here at Blacbird. AIM is certainly does not appear to be as it was pre COVID. So disappointing that the excitement has drained away from it, I suppose it mirrors the reality here in the UK. We all need an economic boost and the world to be a more positive place. Fingers crossed for a better future.
Thanks for that post. No evidence that we are involved in Google Vids, but if we are not, we certainly should be, or at this stage in Blackbirds history at least working with a major so that our disruptive tech can be fully utilised. NAB 2024 starts in a couple of days, I would expect any major news to be timed with that. IMHO. DYOR. And GLA.
All of the major vendors have been looking at ways to use AI to help customers develop creative content. On Tuesday at the Google Cloud Next customer conference in Las Vegas, Google introduced a new AI-fueled video creation tool called Google Vids. The tool will become part of the Google Workspace productivity suite when it’s released.
“I want to share something really entirely new. At Google Cloud Next, we’re unveiling Google Vids, a brand new, AI-powered video creation app for work,” Aparna Pappu, VP & GM at Google Workspace said, introducing the tool.
Does the above impact Blackbirds video editing offering. Comments.
" Hopefully, I am allowed to have an opinion rather than being shot down for having one ????????? "
Very amusing coming from you,SisterAct whose only purpose here is to shoot down other people´s opinion
It can only be positive that they are proactively managing their cost base and therefore cash position during this key in their development. Looking forward to some KPIs on the new product e.g. total users, profile of adopters etc
Pc. I am not trying to achieve anything.Personal attacks aren't necessary. I am quite entitled to my opinion that I don't think offices moves whether its registered office or whatever is a "big move". Bird are downsizing offices, staff, customers and money. I don't see that as a cause for optimism I'm afraid. Hopefully, I am allowed to have an opinion rather than being shot down for having one ?????????
Blackbird Plc.
We ran our lease down and finally move out next month, into a smaller but more dynamic environment in central London.
The new office has flexible terms, which will allow us to grow cost effectively.
" How is moving the registered office to what is effectively shared office/space to rent in London a big move ? "
Sisteract
You are clearly trying to be some kind of roof top sniper making critical comments on whatever anyone wishes to post,no doubt trying to be clever ...
Now, if you had read the Annual Report page 43 you would have known that the old office lease has not been renewed and the Company is in fact making a "move" to new offices ..... it is not just a Registered Office but a new Office from which to be based.
The new premises are more dynamic and cheaper..used I suspect because a number of engineers work from home and this new Office facility allows you to book meeting rooms as and when required , giving more flexibility
The previous office as @hyper-al has indicated is now being marketed for lease to potential new occupants
Having a Holborn Office location is possibly better for employees to get to and for meetings, rather than out in Wimbledon
Maybe you need to review what it is you are trying to achieve
ATB
No... I'm not wrong.
If you care to read the RNS on the 26th March you will see that the registered office is moving to ;
LABS House,
15-19 Bloomsbury Way
London
WC1A 2TH.
Which is office and work space to rent so I'm not actually wrong.
It's just a legal statutory responsbility to inform of a change of the registered office and hardly a big move.
Sisteract
Well you are wrong. You should do some research before you speak. Here is the previous office on Rightmove. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/133254740
Good luck to all those who actually hold shares. Exciting times ahead! imho
How is moving the registered office to what is effectively shared office/space to rent in London a big move ?
You don't even have ro reside or do business from your registered office. eg any company could have its registered office at its accountants.
Moving registered office means precisely nothing in trading/business terms ,it is just a legal requirement. !
Open new office on Tuesday 2nd. A big move, and I hope the start of very exciting times ahead. 🤞🤞
".....not just assuming that this can be done by a massive marketing campaign or simply trying to buy clicks "
There are many companies now that do no external advertising, their entire brand image is created through the experience that people have interacting with them online, through a growing Community ...interacting via social media and through regular email Update notifications etc ....the customer very much becoming part of the Product via their feedback and requirement changes
