Perhaps part of the reason behind the rise today....http://biomebioplastics.com/biome-bioplastics-futamura-compostable-multilayer-films/
It was issued on the back of the quarterly trading statement - Agreed it would have been nice to have more clarity as to why/how the revenue decreased. Looking forward, the diversity of the Division is growing rapidly & can only see this as a 'blip' rather than a game changer. Hoping for visibility on the order book going forward..
Good job we have 4 commercial contracts in the US then and not the Welsh :D :D
This truly has to be the bottom now; 4 commercial contracts hitting the P&L this year - Very exciting times! I wonder how 'Substantial' this will be. Hopefully many more contracts being signed for 19/20..we should start seeing the snowball effect shortly. GLA
BIOM are suppliers to VEGANWARE? On the BBC website today they have an article saying that 13 Welsh councils cannot afford the equipment to compost plant based plastics and are having to put it into landfill. Not good news I'm afraid.
One way of maximising profit is to make sure you have products which are as good if not better & wider ranging than your competition not to mention cheaper to produce biodegradeable plastics for the client. BIOM has had a head start over SYM having been around in various guises since 1994 with SYM born in 2003. We shall see cheeky N3RO who will be LOL to the bank in say 12 month's time.
That is the benefit of having 2 Divisions - Stanelco will be the cash cow that grows the Bio Division. Agreed the cost is higher than chemical based plastics, fortunately many company's would rather pay a premium for their materials rather than destroy the world! Not sure you understand this company at all...Stick with SYM ;)
....when SEO @1/8 p per share. Made more than a few bob so not complaining. It's only Stanelco that is keeping this afloat.Would question overall margins as profit/share is a minus whereas SYM is a plus. This is down to the high cost of manufacture of plant based biodegradeables
Have you compared the financial statements? LOL BIOM has double the revenue, better % YOY growth, superior margins...
...until I discovered SYM whose chemicals are added to the ingredients while using existing manufacturing processes which has major savings over what BIOM has to offer and it saves planting large plots of land, waiting for them to grow & ripen before harvesting. Makes far more sense to me.
It does look overdone and bottomy. Just bought some at 445p. GLA
Don't really understand the great BIOM sell-off. Good chance to buy at this very low level, can't see these prices being around for much longer..
Nows your chance... seems even cheaper today. Low ff makes this a big swinger.
Not invested here, but really like this company. Hoping for this not to recover too soon though, even drift further down hopefully giving me some time to release funds and invest. GLA.
Well the drop was so overdone and has provided a fantastic opportunity to load up low. The smallest bit of good news here and it will hugely re-rate.
My money is on us being £10+ by summer. Easy bag
There just look at those 3 delayed buys, 2x 14.5k shares and one 4.8k. That’s near £170k, and just published today. May be a director adding but someone else is very confident. Trek wish I had more funds arrrgh!
Imo mr market is not always rational. It does not always attribute value to potential, patents, or ideas, then you get the dot com bubble, or crypto bubble where herd mentality and FOMO drives unrealistic valuations and remember dolly the sheep.. But it usually rewards or penalises based on numbers. Atm, BIOM is being penalised for a miss, but I am not bothered because when you look at the revenue and cash position I believe, like A-game, we are grossly undervalued and there is more good news to come. Other views differ and that’s what make the market. But to be aware a share as illiquid as BIOM can easily be played but when a tipping point is reached usually news driven it can rerate significantly in hours. Unfortunately I am currently fully invested but I will be buying here in next years ISA and I hope the price stays low until then. Trek
I agree with you Goldust88. But why is this SP lower than usual considering the RNS? I don't trust the AIM market mms.
Outlook (from RNS)
As 2019 unfolds, we expect a gradual but SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE in Bioplastics revenues. This trend should be encouraging for investors and should reward their patient support for our development of new materials in an area of outstanding business potential
Can't see why anyone is selling on this update as there are clearly orders in the pipeline many of which will land this year and get the share price really motoring. In my view a very strong hold indeed.
I have added a few more today. Agree this drop has been way overdone, how we are valued at ~£10M (when you take off our cash balance) is beyond me with revs of nearly £9M!
Holding this one for the long term. I see £10+ this year and likely in H1 when we see bio interest rocket.
Market punishing really hard for the miss but cash is still so good and outlook for bio very encouraging. Fibre has got us to where we are now and looks like bio will be the star to follow. Very honest appraisal from BoD. Staying invested here because I believe it’s way under valued on a revenue basis and with so few shares the peaks and troughs are over exaggerated. Works both ways. Will look to add in next isa round. Trek
tomorrow, MMs playing the game. Results are honest and conservative in my opinion. Back up tomorrow..
Yes that trade has got to hurt, would suggest a panic sell given the time but you never know might be a stop loss under 500 that the mms wanted to accumulate and sell back for me.
