Indeed and its surprisingly quiet on here today. Still looking like excellent value based on commercial potential for Biome's technology
Looking strong...Being offered £6 a share now :D
MM's actually allowing some quotes today! Looking could - ticking up nicely. Full year results expected at end of month so I expect positive sentiment leading up to that :D GLA
Plastics are in the news and I note a recent director buy. But does seem very odd. Very illiquid stock though. Trek
Hmm interesting...moving up on no visible trades and can’t buy a thing. Something going on in the background :/

Biome Bioplastics launches #ThinkBioplastic
ThinkBioplastic
Dear Friends of Biome,
A few weeks ago, we launched a new digital education platform #ThinkBioplastic.
This initiative resulted from the observation that while recent extensive coverage on plastic has increased awareness of the problem, it’s also increased the public’s confusion about existing solutions.
With that in mind, we wanted to cut through the noise of the plastic debate and produce a channel which put the emphasis back on science and fact.
The video series “Our plastic predicament” that we launched alongside the channel investigates the science behind the recent plastic headlines, as well as highlighting the role of bioplastic as a solution to reduce the harmful impact of plastic manufacture and disposal.
We’d love for you to take a look at the series – see below:
Episode 1 - What’s wrong with plastic?
Episode 2 - Unsavoury beginnings
Episode 3 - Why won’t you die?
Episode 4 - Plastics from plants
If you feel like we only touched on the plastic predicament, don’t worry. We are launching part two of the series early next year, and we will broach some much more in-depth topics.
In the meantime, please watch and share the videos with your friends and network and feel free to send us your comments and feedback.
Many thanks,
Paul Mines
Thast's what I like to see - a director taking shares. Looks very positive.
"Lignin research has been going on for a few years. I would prefer to read in an RNS that all coffee shops in the UK and the USA are now using BIOM coffee cups and coffee pods. Plus, all supermarkets and shops are using biodegradable bags and selling biodegradable bin liners. Or, supermarket suppliers are now using biodegradable packaging. That would be of more value to us shareholders. The lignin research could take years to be commercially viable."
Well, yeah but while we're waiting for that this will have to do.
Years, for scale but that’s not long for disruptive tech investments. Remember we are also many years ahead of others so much so that it’s cheaper to adopt our technology or buy us than do it yourself. Oh, and we’re funded. Pretty unique that and imo worth a lot more than the market attributes atm coz there just pricing revenues. Trek Biome get one free,

Sounds like a long term project but this sentence made me sit up and take notice...
"The funding, provided by UK Research and Innovation and delivered by Innovate UK, was awarded as part of a £20 million Open Competition to deliver game changing or disruptive innovations with significant potential for impact on the UK economy."
Really!? SP up circa 150% yoy...You don't need to feel sorry for me....
I have now sold out but will look to buy back in the future.
Yes, Malbrun, you are correct. I had a million shares and ended up with 382.
That's possible it was a while ago.....I notice yet another 177 went through today....
You should have received a payment as well, about £24.75.
likewise Malbrun..... I had 500,000 in Stanelco and also got 177 Shares
So not sure how it was worked but an awful lot of people got the same 177 shares.
No.
430,000 shares became 177.
I had 450,000 and received 177 shares plus £7.07.
Five years ago, the BOD had a 'Capital reorganization' meaning that 430,000 shares equaled one new share.
This effectively stopped small investors (i.e. AIM investors) from trading or holding shares. Now there are very few shares available so i imagine that the sales are from those people that hold a lot of shares to stimulate the market. However, that isn't working. But if AIM investors would like to buy shares then they are now available.
36k sell yesterday morning seems to be what killed it... Shame :(.
Also someone bought and sold at a loss an hour later today. Strange...
Onwards and upwards next week...
Expected some profit taking giving it's sharp rise. Would have been nice to have sold yesterday on the spike but mad to sell these long term, sellers should be back. Higher highs and higher lows. Saving the world and making money along the way, what could be better?!
This is easily a ten bagger share when those two US projects get the green light.
Yup
Hello, Share Monkeys. Writers like me take a big risk when they commend a share the day before a big trading update comes along. But in the case of Biome Technologies (BIOM) I was happily vindicated. The numbers are exciting and as a result the shares soared as high as 12.5%. That attracted some profit taking, but the share price is still up by 9% as I write.
Biome is an outfit whose shares leap every time there’s more dire news about the effects of waste plastic on our oceans. It researches and makes plant-based plastics rather than the oily ones with do not degrade. The company also does clever stuff with radio waves, which is beyond me, but which is a big earner. The latest trading update is to end September 2018.
Revenues achieved in the third quarter of this year were £2.6 million (2017: £1.5 million). This takes group revenues for the first nine months to £7 million, a whacking 56% increase compared to the same period last year. I don’t expect any slowdown in progress as the world becomes ever more aware of the dangers of thrown-away plastic, including all those coffee cups. But if growth slows then this company has a strong cash position as a handy buffer. It’s £2.5 million.
The company says it has two big projects in the USA now in the development stage. If they succeed, they could ‘lead to substantial revenues’. The radio wave end of the business is also doing well. Revenues here in the third quarter were £2 million, which is almost double last year’s income. So it’s hard to not like this firm as an investment. Especially if the outrage at plastic in our oceans continues to grow. And we all know it very probably will.
Bullish!!
Hello, Share Samplers. After a surge of excitement, the value of a company involved in the making of self-destructing coffee cups has declined. I refer to Biome Technologies (BIOM). But if ever a share was dependent on a growing future trend this is it.
Hardly a day goes by these days without we hearing of a major move towards getting rid of dangerous plastic in our seas. This week’s bombshell comes from WWF. It says that animal life has declined by 60% between 1970 and 2014 because of man-made pollutants, like plastic in the sea. Biome produces a range of plant-based plastics that are biodegradable and compostable. The firm is also leading a £5 million research and development programme with academic and industrial partners aimed at reinventing bioplastics to both improve performance and reduce cost.
Biome is not one of those companies which promise the earth (literally) and then fail to take off due to factors like lack of experience and having ‘planet saving’ products that don't actually work very well. It has been in the green game for a long time - and yes, it has lost some of us lolly but that was years ago when it went by the name of Stanelco.
Since then the balance sheet has rejuvenated and the share price has soared. It reached more than 650p, but then fell again. And this week it is back on the gravy train, perhaps because of that devastating news from WWF.
The company also has a different strand, still using the brand name of Stanelco. This is some fancy technology using radio waves. So if the oil-based plastic substitute game doesn’t pay off, then there is a bit of insurance for the share price. In any event, if you are concerned about the murderous effect your throw-away coffee cup might be having on the oceans, then buying shares in this lot is one way of helping out.
