it would seem there is a lot off interest in taking over satellite companies flying around Inmarsat being one and interest floating around for more this could possibly send avn's price higher just on this news ..
RE : what is a proper correction If this share is a recovery play (IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT IN MY VIEW BUT SOME THINK IT IS ) then a solid base has to form in the share price and then see a series of higher lows. Nothing rocket science about that. The price action is very poor with AVN and nobody can disagree with that. In addition large institutions need to stop selling. there is never anything positive to be taken from large institutional sellers unloading at lows. Its still a dog turd.
HITS, yep, half a billion shares dilution is better than a billion shares. I still think that there is a big seller in the background. Every so often we get 100,000 and 200,000 trades. Not a lot on their own but they add up and obviously 10s of millions cannot be sold in one trade. So is it a big seller taking us down or the market taking us down to a placing price ? All will be revealed shortly.
IKVL, that's kinda the whole thing that any PI is trying to work out to the best of his/her ability. Get it right and you'll make money. Get it wrong and you'll lose. Your estimate is as good as anyone else's.
SS is suggesting that in his opinion, the SP hasn't yet finished falling to its natural and realistic level, so don't go buying in on the way down (aka "don't try catching a falling knife" because that'd be painful)..
It’s not mine or the fat lady’s desire to dwell on negative sentiment ...... BUT. This bucket of horse crap is doomed. If you need to buy. Wait for a proper correction. Stop catching the falling knife. PURLEEEEEASE!
Happens when the stock price moves more than 10% I believe. They are there to avoid 'fat finger trades'.
Standard speeding tickets.... auto-issued by AIm when there's too high a percentage of trades in too short a time.
IKVL - Seems reasonable. This share has been giving PI's a 'good seeing too' for years.....
Precisely zero inside knowledge here. Just that it seemed to be a guaranteed banker that AVN was gonna have to raise a fair few million bucks via a placing. I pulled the figure of 4.5p out of the air, just because a) at the time it looked like a reasonable discount against the then SP and b) and because it made the maths easier (4.5 pence = 6 cents). But as usual WTFDIK. It's all pure supposition on my part.
....we haven't seen a fat lady comment here as the price slides down to 4.5p. Can I hear the distant strains of an aria.....?;-)
HIS The market seems to agree with you with the placing at 4.5p. We are nowehre near out of the woods with this one yet and it still a red or black bet imho. I am in but April 14 seems a long time ago when the share was at 2.95
What I also like is that it had to be released as an RNS because of regulatory disclosure rules. It wasn't thinly disguised promotional waffle that David Williams was prone to.
Correction.... my post below should read "...of a US$30 million placement...", but the other numbers (eg half a billion extra shares) are correct. AIMO
buko, that's a good spot. Looks like by maxing out on the two draw-down facilities, that's US$44.5 million. Forget the Open Offer, because that only raised about US$0.6 million. But then there's the confimation that AVN does have the existing authority (which if it's got any sense, it'll use first, rather than increasing indebtedness) to raise an extra US$30 million via an equity placing. You can ignore any cash in the bank, because that (naturally enough) will have already been factored in by the BoD. However, add to that potentially securable US$75 million detailed above the US$20m they've just announced they've been awarded (providing the Indonesians pay) and that's US$95 million, which would definitely see them over their short-term cash requirement line. cassius, I reckon that's almost a cast-iron guarantee of a 30 million placement/dilution at I'm guessing 4.5p (= US$0.06) per share... but that'd then only be an extra half a billion shares, so only a 20% ish dilution. Still not nice, but better than the 33% we were fearing. I'm now expecting a couple of RNSes confirming which of the above-stated funding vehicles have been utilised within the very near future. AIMO.
Good News indeed. Hopefully, we'll see some big contract news once H4 is in it's chosen Geo Stationary position too and then the fightback will really be on !
Taken from Avanti web site under "shareholders circular (FINAL) page 10. Additional Funds means certain additional funds being targeted by the Company, being: (a) an additional draw down of up to US$14.5 million under the Super Senior Facility subject to agreement by HPS Investment Partners, LLC; (b) an additional draw down of up to US$30 million under the 2021 Notes as permitted under the proposed 2021 Notes Indenture, conditional upon completion of the Restructuring; (c) the non-underwritten Open Offer for up to e5 million, conditional upon completion of the Restructuring; and/or (d) a proposed equity placing of up to US$30 million being considered post the completion of the Restructuring . if the above is achievable and the $20.1 million in lieu this should answers some posters questions . regards .
Twenty million is still a lot of money. Add that to the 47 million they have in the bank and your over two thirds of the way there. Certainly eases the pain somewhat.
So this covers 20m of the 90m we need. I suppose this is some good news, providing it is paid on time.
When are you going to give a 'buy' recommendation on this share? I know you have been following it with great patience over the years. Maybe we need another lifetime to see it to fruition!
Dont think ive ever seen the share price as stagnated as todays
...did you buy some more then? You said you would below 5p!
Dear WTFDIK1 and WTFDIK2 Sell now while there is still a bid in the market!
buko, IMO any delays in H-4 becoming operational is already built into the existing contractual payment terms, with final payment ($40m I believe?) only becoming due following successful in-orbit testing. So that final payment's timing already takes into account any delay, if you see what I mean. cassius, I suspect you're right to do nothing and wait and see. Hell, it's what I'm doing.. but WTFDIK 2?
Thanks for the replies HITS. Im not inclined to do anything until the funding is sorted out. If it is a placing of a billion or more shares then I think that I will have plenty of time to get in at a low SP when they are issued. If funding comes from a different source I might miss out . The SP could rise very quickly on funds from a bond. But WTFDIK ??
