Covid19 isn't going anywhere in a hurry. The 4 coroanviruses that will give you a common cold keep reinfecting people throughout their lives despite exposure since childhood, already it's being suggested that c19 immunity is only temporary and no coronavurus has ever been successfully vaccinated against. The resources being thrown at it are unprecedented but I sincerely doubt someone will come up with a magic potion and just eradicate it. Mass testing will be required for some time to come.
"This thing's not going to stop until it infects 60 to 70% of people," Michael Osterholm, report author and the director of CIDRAP, told CNN. "The idea that this is going to be done soon defies microbiology."

I believe Antigens are used in Cancer Vaccines .
Not a vaccine more of an antiviral, Avacta refer to it as a therapeutic
TonyFawcett, just to add on your good post below, I feel there is a CEO here that under promises and over delivers. This guy is very humble in my opinion but also very confident of his product. I'm therefore very confident in investing here, together with the excellent research from a number of regulars on here, I feel Avacta will do very well indeed!!
Did I read somewhere recently that Avacta were working on a cancer vaccine ?
I think we ought to take a slightly longer term view instead of expecting an RNS every other day. I think the big news will come throughout June and July. The trouble is on Aim, if the news does not come the SP can do a slight retrace but then spike when news comes. I think we will go through the £2 mark simply on anticipation, and £5 on fda and ce approval, going on to £10 by the end of July . The potential here is huge, we have been driven by speculation and anticipation upto now.
ignore them
What does history tell us about those "1st Post Guru's"?
What does history suggest to us about Pharma stocks? Exciting plans don't work out, SP drops.
At the end of the day you need to have genuine interest in order to stand by a given share.
Thoughts on the likelihood of a sub 200p buy going through on Monday (assuming no positive news)?
As soon as the affirmers are out there, there will be plenty of new treatments to work on, took 4 weeks to generate new affirmers for covid, so any mutation would take as long to develop a new batch, plenty more to come from this.
Sydney - I hope you’ve not sold your C63 just to invest here. You’ve already got 13k invested by reading a few of your posts, which might not seem a lot to some but don’t get greedy. If we all knew the SP was going to explode I would probably sell the Mrs for a couple of quid but we don’t. Nobody can say what the SP is going to do from one week to the next and asking people on an anonymous bb what to do re investing is fought with danger for all sorts of reasons. Do your research and make your own decisions then at the end of the day you can only blame yourself if it turns to rat ....
Sydm19 You could open a spread bet, only require a 25% deposit. Then sell and move to isa or whatever when your cash comes through
Hasn't anyone else noticed that Weston general hospital in Somerset has closed to all routine appointments and accident and emergency admissions due to being swamped by a new Covid 19 outbreak?
No one knows for sure, but I think we will have had some news by then.
The real question is how high do you think the SP will go in the next x months and come next Monday at what price are you comfortable at buying in
Guys..
I am looking to free up some cash should hope to have it by next Monday to invest... Will i have missed the boat or is there atleast 2 weeks till we have further positive news
Cindy it's also likely to be as you are lying down and breathing slower the mucus and other byproducts of infection settle, hence the coughing when you wake to move it.
There's room for both, yours is suited for the summer hols getaway, mine for the winter flu season.
Everyone - keep your eyes peeled, the next RNS will be due to a deal with a marketing duo. Can't wait for those royalties...
Hi Cindy - I'm pretty sure doctors are aware that there are natural rythyms to our immune response. Sorry to hear you are still with it - emerging evidence is that there are longer term sequalae. If it were me I'd speak to my GP and actually seek a test. Many people have remained infected for quite lengthy periods of time. As always I suggest, drink enough fluids, stay active. Not a doctor
Damn right Cheng! Any excuse to post it, I won't settle until I see it on Avacta branded test packaging :-)
btw, good luck with your recovery Cindy
Rockes, I'm just going from my own experience, at night ot was so much worse as with any flu or cold, as I looked into it more, your body goes into defense mode aka night mode and creates more T/cell and stops producing protein S to coat them or the other way around I can't remember, patients 100% suffer more at night with the inflammatory lungs, and this is caused by night mode and you immune system over reacting.. so day mode is the key I'm convinced, they say the simple things are the cures to the worlds bighist problems l, I haven't even spoken to a doctor about this theory, it might sound dumb but hey I've put it out there and your welcome to the idea. Hopefully it gets passed on to a doctor or lab.
:-)
Think we ll see a big spike end of the summer when the winter pressures start to hit, people return to work /school and travel starts.
Testings going to be around for years world wide until we see how vaccines work. Even then it may be endemic
Chinas also finding some people are still testing +ve 70 days from initally getting C19 so have to remain in isolation until they have a clear test.
Way I see it is there plenty of room for all companies making tests globally esp with demand out stripping supply.
Did someone just mention Have I Got Flus For You?
Cindy - circadian ryhtmns are part of being human. Driven by multi factorial feedback loops including hormonal, physical, spiritual (!). Not sure if steps to try and keep us in day mode have much chance but I'm intrigued - not cause I think it makes sense but heck I'm just sitting here watching the gardeners.
On other business its much easier and faster time knock out new affirmers that bind any number of variants to a protein than it is to develop a vaccine. Once approach validated once Avacta can adapt almost in real time. Furthermore, it is possible to apply more than one affimer on one stick. Thus can trust for different strains. Heck a wiseman, great mind forget his name, suggests we can test whether someine has flu or covid.
