The only difference between UK shares and US ADRs is that the shares are bundled in lots of 10. The shares in ADRs are genuine AGL shares and have been transferred to the US via a bank as a block transfer. They are bought and sold just like any other share in the US

Nationwide is a good bet it's owned by account holders, if board doesn't behave they can be sacked by account holders at AGM
